Retired military pension VS postal employment? I am receiving military retirement pay after 20+ years of active duty with a 10% disabled rating. If I take a post office position, how does this affect my retirement pay, if at all. And what could I expect for vacation time initially. Is there a web site that explains these Post Office benefits for military retirees? Thanks in advance for your replies.
US Postal Service Employment? When seeking employment with USPS, and took a test you get a letter that says on the top Notice of Rating Eligible It says basic ratings and final ratings are the identical at low 70s. What does this mean, and what's my chance of getting an interview with this letter in Washington Metropolitan Area?

Is a Postal worker considered to be a "Public Servant"? For a legal standpoint, is a United States Postal Worker considered to be a "Public Servant"? If yes, would interferance with this "Public Servant's" efforts to report a potential "criminal act" (perpetrated at his place of employment), be viewed as RESTRAINT IN THE PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES? Perhaps I should have said would it have qualified as RETALIATION against this "Public Servant" trying to do his duty to report the criminal act?

What is the postal address of Yahoo Answers in California? I feel Muslim employees are violating their employment guidelines and need reported for censuring valid questions, like: Are "peace-talking" M u s l i m s on RS really Jihadists masquerading their strategies of a world for Allah?" Serious question, what is YA address?
Employment in Cape Coral, FL? I am looking for employment in the Cape Coral area. I am seeking employment with either the state, postal, or school district. Any suggestions as to where I can start applying?
Can my employment change my work schedule, even if I have told my boss I really can't work that shift? I have been working the same shift for 4 months now and in the same department for 4 1/2 years. Seniority doesn't count- I was told directly by my boss. Every one is happy with their shifts and got what they wanted. Now I'm stuck with the crappy one that I don't even want. I didn't agree to it. What do I do or can I do? Advice please...no stupid postal answers, that gets you reported. Ok, then I must add these: I can't work because I have a baby and no one else to take care of her that day and only one day with my husband as a family day. So the reason is legit. Can he fire me if I don't show on the scheduled day?
Did you get scammed too by this ad? USPS employment...Don't call this number!!!? I read an ad in the local News Paper in the classifies for employment for the U.S. Postal Services. The ad said I could make $20 an hour part time or full time. I called 1-800-584-1859. And they continued to tell me about the employment opportunity and that I needed to pay over $100 for the study material in order to take the Postal Battery Exam. Come to find out it's a big scam and they got my credit card numbers and already charged me. There was a report with the BBB that told me all about it. A little fact so it doesn't happen to you. Your local post office gives you this study material free of charge and tells you how to set up for your test date!!! Lucky for me I used Discover Card. They were great and are going after the company for me and refunding me my money. When I called this company called Exam Services they told me directly they have been doing this for years and no they would not return my money. I feel stupid it was the one time I didn't check first with BBB.

What are companies that are located nationwide in America (looking for a job)? I want to move across the country a couple seasons from now but I want there to be a possibility of getting a job transfer so I'll be assured employment when I get there. I took the USPS postal exam but I'm really not sure anymore how likely I am to get a job with them anytime soon. Help. I need a job with a big company.
Privacy laws in Canada protecting employees personal information? My T4 slip was given to an individual to give to me from my former place of employment. Although I trust this person, it was done without my consent. It contains my full name, address, postal code, and social security number. What are my rights as an ex-employee? Aren't there privacy laws against my information being shared? What can be done about it?
Postal Service jobs?? Am I wasting my time? I'm currently studying to take the 473 exam, because I saw an ad in my local paper stating that there was alot of positions coming open. I am not in need of a job, I am currently working for the school district, but would like to get a job in the postal service. I'm just wondering if there really is any employments available or if the outlook is decent in that field. I am kind of skeptical due to the way the economy is right now and everyone is looking for a job. Am I wasting my time? I'm going to take the test none the less, but should I not get my hopes up for employment? Thanks!!
I recently applied with the United States Postal Service for Casual and have questions regarding it. See below Ok I went in to my local postal office as instructed t o do so and feeled out all the paperwork, everything the same day this past Wednesday. It is for Casual. What all does Casual consist of? I went in Thursday morning to take the required drug test for employmet with the postal service. So basically about how long now should it be before I hear something back from them as far as employment goes? I live in Baton Rouge, LA so based on my city exactly what would i expect to make based on per hour and yearly? I'm currently 19 yrs old and have been out of serious work for over 10 months and this jobs would be aesome as its a federal job with lots of benefits plus I could pay for my college education myself without a financial aid loan plus I could start saving up for a house and pay cash for it. Also after 6 months I could take a test to become a career mail career rather than a casual one so would in being a career mail carrier after passing the test would i be certified?
Is a strike in 2009 by the postal workers legitimate or justified? Britain has come a long way since the early days of strikes and picket lines. New European Laws overrule British Employment Laws and workers have more rights than ever.In a time of global economic down turn should they just not shut up and put up.Should they not count themselves lucky still to have a job ? My business is suffering because of the strike I believe the way in which these strikes are staggered by one day here and there and different departments doing different days is utterly disgusting.Small businesses are struggling and many will go under as customer are avoiding placing orders in fear that there will be delays. If the postal workers are loosing the odd day pay here and there and as a result my business has to cease trading because of lack of confidence by the public. If the postal workers want to strike which they are legally entitled to do ,at least go for an all out strike and suffer financially like the rest of us. Either an all out strike, get back to work or sack the whole lot of them. No wonder this country is in a mess with a government run by socialist trade union backers. Public opinion still deep rooted with their working class background out of date values in a fast moving capitalist economy. People will take their business elsewhere as we have choice and many more will be unemployed because of the trade unions.
I need to find a good job in the N Dallas area but am in San Diego. What is the FASTEST way to go about this? I am in San Diego as I got out of the Navy here and my wife's family lives here, so we stayed while I was trying to find employment in the N Dallas area where we plan to move. That wasn't working as planned and I came back here to San Diego to take the Postal Exam. That was in Nov, and I have yet to hear from them and am getting tired of waiting. Here is my background: crap jobs (grocery bagger, fast food, etc..), security (unarmed, do not hold Guard Card) (1yr), Navy Electronics and Aviation Electronics (3yrs), Navy Personnelman (HR type stuff, paperwork, clerical) (3yrs), and now am working as a Marine Electrician building new ships (3mo now). I am looking to find a decent paying job ($18+, +better!) in the North Dallas area, but these website jobfinders don't seem to do much and I have put my resume on most of them. I have also put my resume directly on companies websties with no response. What is the best and fastest way to go about finding a good job in another state?
USPS v. Civilian Federal Govt. Employment? If a person has worked for the Federal Govt over 10+ yrs, can they get a job with United State Postal Service and still keep their time in goverment for retirement? Or are they different systems when it comes to qualifying for retirement?
Group of postal employees looking for an attorney to help stop harrassment and intimidation.? We are a group of 20 employees in CT looking for an attorney to help us. We ahve been working under condtions that have gotten progessively worse. Our complaints both verbal and written are not being taken seriously. There are so many more details but the big question is.....How can we locate an attorney who knows employment law and how it applies to the post office which likes to think it is untouchable. There are so many more details but the big question is.....How can we locate an attorney who knows employment law and how it applies to the post office which likes to think it is untouchable. In addition we have filedd complaints with our union but our union reps are volunteers from outside our office. They do not return our calls or represent us as they should. They care just as culpable because they are well aware of the situation. The person doing the harassment has been removed from multiple offices because of the wya she treats people. She has been removed from our office twice. The postal service didn't know what to do with her so they sent her back to us. ughhhhhh.
Work Employment Issue? I have a question about a situation at work that I need help with.... Basically, what happened was we had an external agency set up at our workplace and we were informed by a higher authority that we could not deal with their postal issues since they were an external agency. A member of the agency came into our office and wanted to know what the rules and the regulations were. Cut a long story short, we said we couldn't deal with their external mail since they were not a part of the mail business structure as advised by a higher authority. However, after that, we spoke to a civilian member of staff whom wanted to know the situation regarding their mail. In the end, we got a letter from our line manager detailing the situation about what we were to do with their post and also, our top line manager decided that they were going to do some extra research into the issue in hand. Some time after, I was shocked to discover that our supervisor had received a letter detailing the fact that we had performed without the proper conduct toward the external agency, in particular, the individual who came into our office, inquiring about the issue. We, as a group in the office, had little option but to write a defence statement, saying the statement that was concocted by our line manager and its content was factually incorrect. Some time passed and basically, the outcome now is that we have been accused of behaving discourteously towards this agency and we have, as an office, been branded liars and that we do not show the correct professional judgment towards our job that we should do. I am not best pleased as I do not believe the situation has been handled in the best way it could have been and they've made me feel like a person whose reputation has been unfairly tarnished by something that, quite simply put, wasn't true from the outset. Any suggestions about a way forward on this issue as we don't want to sit back as an office and allow our reputations as individuals to be tarnished by a horrific lie. Kind Regards
question about insufficent employment history!! HELP!!? Im going thru the hiring process with the UnitedStates Postal Service. I used to work at Nationwide Insurance a franchise office. The agent has since retired and the office is now a different business. I looked online, the yellow pages, the Nationwide Insurance website, and even went by the old office. I cannot find the owner. What else should i do?? I really need to find this person so i can fill out the information properly. I wouldnt want to omit it and then the Post Office finds out and then I get fired. What is a girl to do??
What happens after passing the US Postal Service Exam? I passed the USPS exam a couple of months ago. Then, two weeks ago, I received a letter stating that I can create an online profile through the USPS employment website to apply for jobs because I have passed the exam and I'm in the USPS database. I created a profile online, and I searched for jobs in every category, but only 3 are listed in the entire state of Texas--all of them corporate or sales positions. I passed a carrier exam, and I find it hard to believe that there are no current job openings for carriers in all of Texas! What should I do to apply for a carrier position? The letter I received said that the USPS contacted people in the past for interviews, but they are in the midst of switching to an all-online process now where everyone must apply instead of being contacted. I feel like I'm caught between the old way and new way since it seems they're not posting carrier positions online in my area yet. Is it possible they'll still call, or is there someplace else I should apply? Has anyone recently been hired by the USPS who can share their experience? Thanks for any advice!
I need to do a 10 year Employment History, but one of my employers is M.I.A. What do I put down ?? Im going thru the hiring process with the UnitedStates Postal Service. I looked online, the yellow pages, the Nationwide Insurance website, and even went by the old office. I cannot find the owner. What else should i do?? What are the basic requirements for clerical or data entry work with USPS (Postal Service)? I'm going to take a test in order to be considered for employment in the USPS. The test is a clerical/typing test. I have really good typing skills but I'm a little nervous. What are the minimum requirements for typing skills to be considered? Also, are there any other type tests which will be given for clerical/data entry work and what should I be brushing up on right now? Does anyone know of any websites I can turn to for help? Thanks
Will a 13 Year old Expunged Felony Conviction prevent me from getting a job with the U.S. Postal Service? Long story short....Thirteen years ago, I was a bank teller and was blamed for cashing a check for a customer on an account that wasn't hers. The bank blamed me for it, and pressed charges, even though a total stranger was the one that cashed the check and left the bank with the money. I was a single mother, couldn't afford an attorney, had to use a public defender, who told me that I would go to jail for 5-10 years if I didn't plead guilty. Another long story short, he told me that I would be able to have it Expunged after the case was over. I thought Expunged meant ERASED, and BOY was I wrong. I never went to jail, was ordered probation, but it was cancelled immediately, they just wanted to convict SOMEBODY, and I was responsible. I am now seeking employment and have registered with an agency in the Dallas area. They REALLY want me to go and interview with the US Post Office. It's EXCELLENT money, but they require Security Clearance!! I haven't had any problems getting other jobs, but I also haven't been fingerprinted for any other jobs. I have had regular criminal background checks, but nothing shows up. Should I even bother applying? They (Post Office) ask if I have had any convictions in the past 7 years, and I had and have NEVER been in trouble except for that. Should I save myself the embarrassment at my agency?
When will USPS be taken over by people who actually want customers? I sent an email complaining that a tolll-free employment verification number for USPS hadn't been working for the last 3 weeks -- I'm trying to verify employment for someone I want to hire. Here is the response I got by email from usps customer support: "Thank you for contacting us about the Postal Employee verification phone line not working. Unfortunately if this number is out of service you will have to wait until it does work." I know if I got an email about my company having a problem with one of it's phone lines, I sure wouldn't respond this way....
Current employer asking for resume? My friend works for the US Postal Service and they've been asked to turn in updated resumes. This seems to be part of deciding who will be layed off, but is he competing for his job with this resume or are they deciding who has the best chance of finding new employment? Other ideas? Anyone been in this situation before?
Is anyone else having problems on HotJobs? I was attempting to edit my resume on HotJobs;when I went on "Edit my employment profile",made my changes, and clicked "Save and exit", I get an error message stating: "According to US Postal Service records, the city/state combination you specified "Bronx, NY" doesn't exist. We've made the best guess suggestion for City." I have had my account on HotJobs for some time now,and as long as I have had it,I have lived in Bronx, NY,and there has never been a problem. I tried rebooting my PC to see if that would repair the problem-it doesn't. What is going on with Yahoo-there seems to be problems and/or glitches on all their services.
USPS mail carriers: do you enjoy your job? I've been thinking of seeking employment with the USPS as a carrier, and I was just wondering if those with the job generally enjoy what they do. I've heard plenty of second- and third-hand opinions, but I don't know any postal workers personally, so I haven't got any first-hand information.
I likewise got a job offer from bradandharley.com in montreal, canada.? I accepted the job offer then they instructed me to get a verification of my credentials from quickvalidate.com which would charged you for about 5 sterling pounds for every verification. my credentials have been verified and bradandharley accepted these. now they email me that my job offer has been confirmed. they would send the job letter, employment contract and travel documents by postal mail. when I asked them for specific clarifications they did not reply. Is Brad and Harley Recruitment Services a legitimate company?
I am unable to find a lawyer job!? I am a new attorney and looking for a job in Illinois. I have been unable to find any employment so far. Should I start cold mailing my resumes to various law firms via postal mail?
What Are Some Entry Level Federal Law Enforcement Careers? I could take a local or a state job and use that experiance and get in later, but for now I'm wondering what starting/entry level federal jobs are out there in Law Enforcement with the Feds. I already know of a handful. Probation Officer (or Probation Officer Assistant depending on district)... Postal Inspector (did hear it requires a year first in general employment with the postal service, so it's not really 'entry' level)... Border Patrol/INS (though my vision fails their standard)... Secret Service (same as above but it's closer, though I've also heard they only theoretically hire entry level, in practice they only hire those w/ experiance)... What else is there out there that allows entry level into a federal law enforcement job? (IE it has a GS rank or equivalent, and it has either/or arrest powers, firearms cert., or some form of criminal investigative authority). Marshalls and FBI are out since they only hire prior exp or Masters degree, but what about the IRS, etc? Ran out of room... I also know of the capital police in DC, but I'm looking for Fed jobs that work across the whole country not just in DC. (training there is fine, but your whole career being there to me it might as well be a local job) By entry level I also mean it requires between no education and a Bach degree (I have a Bach), and you can get hired if you have less then a year of experiance. If it requires a post-grad degree or more then 1 year job experiance, I consider that non-entry level. However if people want to add jobs that have strict vision or Masters degree requirements feel free, since other people might look here and find that stuff useful even though I don't personally. Thank you, but I was already aware of USAjobs and several other broad job search sites. I wasn't asking for sites or general info or opinions on what people think of federal law enforcement. Those may be good question or answers, but aren't dealing with my specific question here. I am only interested in actual job titles/agencies, not in search/metasearch job sites or opinions on the field as a whole. Nothing wrong with that, it's just I can already find the first on my own, and can formulate my own of the second. Thanks for the BoP one, I didn't realize that was such a good way into the Air Marshalls... the veteran affairs I looked into, but it heavily favors people w/ veterans pref. points in hiring, and I don't have those.
Are USA citizens truly ready for their soldiers to come back from overseas conflicts.? What is in place regarding Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome? What types of employment is available for them? How comfortable could one be if some of them were policeman, prison guard, postal worker, nurse, teacher, soldier, ploitician,or doctor? How would these soldiers react to a society that is ill-equiped for the emotional trauma experienced during their tour of duty? How would a society well equip itself to deal with these matters? What businesses wil be created as a result of well eqippng the society to deal with these soldiers and possibly their familes? In what ways would this be a profitible investment?
Does Worldmanpower recruitment agency Legally operate in Europe? I sent my resume and passport and they reply me and offered me a Job, they required me to send 366 euro to them as Lawyer's Immigration fee, i didnt send money to them thru Western Union on that given date and they send me a mail informing that i am already included as Blacklisted in whole Europe Embassy and Immigration so I wont be able to go or travel in Europe. Is it Possible? What are the possible violation that i made?i am sure i never violated their law. They told me they would file a case against me that I pay 250,000 euro according to International Law.Hence, the Visa wont arrive in the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency office because they would send it to my postal address, they will enclosed my roundtrip ticket.

Postal Worker? guy goes into the U.S. Post Office to apply for a job. The interviewer asks him, "Have you been in the service?" "Yes," he says. "I was in Vietnam for three years." The interviewer says, "That will give you extra points toward employment" and then asks, "Are you disabled in any way?" The guy says, "Yes 100%...a mortar round exploded near me and blew my testicles off." The interviewer tells the guy, "OK. I can hire you right now. The hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. You can start tomorrow. Come in at 10:00 A.M." The guy is puzzled and says, "If the hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. then why do you want me to come in at 10:00 A.M.?" "This is a government job," the interviewer says. "For the first two hours we stand around scratching our balls. No point in you coming in for that."

have you heard about the 4-1-9 scams from africa? i have a antique pier mirror for sale , advertising with a internet company and i get this email from a guy in Africa. Stating that he's just over there for employment and his home is in Va. and he wants to purchase the mirror and send me extra money to forward to his shippers. they send you U.S. Postal money orders and want you to take them to your bank and cash them immediatley and wire the remaining funds to the so called shipper. I took the money orders to the post office and asked them to check them first cause i thought they looked fake, they were. so beware of the 4-1-9 scams this is also a website if you like to look into it further to see all the different scams they try to do

please let me know if this is scam or not? What this position entails: You will post classified ads, such as sales ads, employment ads or real estate ads in your local newspapers and magazines. Our company is located in Germany and prices for newspaper ads are almost double for foreign citizens/companies, this is the main reason we need your services in the US for the specified position, Newspaper Advertiser. If you have any questions about an assignment, you will generally receive a response from us within the same day, often within few minutes. NO account SETUP fees or fees of any kind are required for this work. To start the job today please reply with the information below: First name, Last name:Full Street Address - NO PO Boxes please:City, State, Postal Zip Code:Two E-mail addresses:Phone#: We will select papers from the US where the classified ads will be placed and send you the funds to post. You will deduct your share from money we send you to post the ads. After a satisfactory 30-day trial period, we will establish a long-term contract with you. You will be registered as our employee and we'll pay taxes every time you will place an ad. You will then receive a 1099 form at the end of each year from us. Although the requirements for this position are very simple and all terms are clear, please do not apply for this job if you are not responsible. All dummies to the front of the line. What do you think America? BREAKING NEWS !!! LEGISLATIVE ALERT !!! The Americans With No Abilities Act Washington , DC - (Dateline February 18, 2009) President Barack Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress are considering sweeping legislation that will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills, knowledge or ambition. "Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the intelligence, competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said California Senator Barbara Boxer - Democrat. "We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability (POI) to be ridiculed, passed over for promotions, or even worse - fired - for no reason except for their lack of any ability or motivation to do any given job. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing or a willingness to learn it." In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi - Democrat, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid - Democrat - pointed to the success of the U.S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance. Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack any job skills, making this agency the single largest U.S. employer of Persons of Inability. Harry Reid pointed also to the public school system as another long-time leader in the field of providing secure employment opportunities to POI. Private-sector industries with good records of non-discrimination against POI include retail sales (72%), the airline industry (68%), and home improvement warehouse stores (65%). At the state government level, highway public works departments, and the Department of Motor Vehicles both have excellent records of hiring Persons of Inability (93%). Under AWNAA, more than 25 million mid-level positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance while building self-esteem and providing more candidates who will eventually be promoted into actual senior management positions with even higher salaries and even fewer actual responsibilities. Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given so as to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable or unproductive employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability into middle-management positions, and gives a tax credit to other businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires. Utility and cable companies, followed closely by computer customer support departments, are lobbying to have past such hires become eligible for these tax incentives. Finally, the AWNAA contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the non-abled, banning, for example, such blatantly discriminatory interview questions such as, "Do you have any particular skills, knowledge or experience that relate to this job?" "As a Non-abled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them,"said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint, Michigan, due to her chronic inability to remember "rightey tightey, lefty loosey." Gertz added, "I shouldn't have to be a rocket scientist to keep my job and this new law should be real good for people like me." With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel and be able to secure well-paying, tenured jobs just like other people who simply are more motivated and productive but otherwise identical to workers such as Gertz. Said Senator Dick Durbin (Democrat-IL), "As a Senator with no abilities, I believe the same privileges and benefits that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every other American with no abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her inadequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation and a good salary for doing so." "You're supposed to sit on your *** and nod at stupid things. Man, that's hard to do."

Postal Worker? A guy goes into the U.S.
Where do I go for dealing with RETALIATION/INTIMIDATION by my employer? To conceal their illegal activities (RICO ACT). When I attempted to utilize the "chain of command" within my Federal Employment, I was "targeted" for acts of RETALIATION including the loss of thousands of dollars in wages and INTERROGATION/INTIMIDATION by corrupt Postal Inspectors, who then LIED to their superiors as to their own actions in regards to their treatment of me. I personally have lost thousands, but my fellow "craft" members have been DEFRAUDED out of MILLIONS so far! The employer has even gone so far as to pay out millions to conceal the indiscretions of their managerial personnel, rather than face the financial liability of "treble damages" under the RICO ACT that would be in the neighborhood of 50 MILLION DOLLARS!
