Moving, When Should I Fill out USPS form to change Address? I am moving in about one week, should I fill out the USPS Address Change/Redirection form today and set the forward date to the first day I am at my new address? Or should wait till the last day of my residence at my old address to fill out the form? Also if I do fill it out online, will it cost me anything? Thanks. I am talking about the mail (USPS) or United States Postal Service.

USPS Address Change Correction Form? Grrr, I moved to college and got my address changed, and of course some bozo had to think an 8 in my p.O. box address was a 3 and screw it up. I still get half my mail, because we don't have any 303 boxes so they know where to put it when my mail comes in, but I'm not getting everything I should be and that scares me just a little bit. I called the USPS and they said there was no record of my address even having been changed, which makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever. They told me I would need to obtain an address change correction form to rectify this problem. The mailing center doesn't have this form, though, because they're not an actual post office and don't have too much jurisdiction over the matter other than to help you get your address changed in the first place and get your mail to you from the main office in Denton. I know it will be presorted standard mail with my name and previous address on it. But there will be no endorsement on it (like "forwarding service requested"). USPS Change of address forms? I'm visiting my parents in Michigan and had someone send me a USPS money order to my parents' place in Michigan (my former residence before getting married). The website says "Arrival at Unit" on Saturday and since today's monday, does that mean it got routed to my NY address now and the info just hasn't been updated on the usps.com site? Help with USPS! Change of address question? My husband & I recently moved and changed/forwarded our mailing address under my husband's name. I ordered something off of Ebay and forgot to tell them my address/maiden name had changed. I just tracked the package and it says it was "undeliverable & being returned." Does "being returned" mean it would be sent to our forwarding address even if my name on the package was different than my husband's (we both lived at the previous address)? Can you put out multiple USPS post office change of address forms at one time? Moved to a new state, lived at 3 different locations in the previous state. Although I put in separate change of address forms each time I moved I would like to put in the older 2 along with my new one to make sure that all mail from all addresses gets to me at my new address. If I change my residence multiple times do I have to submit all past address to USPS? Moving, How Does USPS Mail Change of Address Work? I recently filed a change of address form w/ USPS. I put the date to start forwarding mail as the 1st day at my new residence. I still have about a week before moving. Can i request an address change from USPS from my husbands moms house to ours,i think they are using his name? on bills they have, phone service, magazine subscriptions,etc.. We are in the process of buying a house and we just seen his credit report stated that he just opened a phone account, and that we need to contact them, but i really would like to catch this in action myself. His family is known to do things like this. For one, his own mother froze his income tax papers once, due to her claiming head of household long ago when he was. USPS Snail Mail Address Forwarding on an item that's already shipped? The question is, does the usps "change of address" work with items that have already been shipped to your old address, and are in transit? I won an item on Ebay a few days ago. Temporary Change of Address Became Permanent? I was out of town for three weeks, so I filed USPS Change of Address forms for both my physical and PO box addresses. I indicated that the "move" was temporary. I received confirmation letters for both addresses with the correct start *and end* dates. I returned home today (Sunday), and I cannot access my PO box, because the lock has been changed. Furthermore, my physical address mail box (at an apartment complex) has a note from the letter carrier asking for "New tenant name." It seems that my temp forward has become permanent. Obviously I need to take this up with the local PO Monday morning, but I was wondering if anyone has had this happen, and if there is anything additional I can or should do. What if they have already re-rented my PO box to another customer? Also, I know I had mail in both my PO and physical boxes (other than junk mail), primarily periodicals, that I never received at my forwarding address. What happened to that mail? Thanks!

I suspect that the USPS messed up my change-of-address request. How can I fix this error? I recently changed my address, but I suspect that the postal service may have made a mistake. I submitted my change-of-address request two weeks ago, but I have not received any forwarded mail yet. When I moved, I had contacted my bank to update my old address to my new address, but today I received an email from my bank saying that they received notification from the postal service that I have moved from my new address to my old address, which is incorrect. I have already contacted the bank again to fix my address back to my new address. But the strangest detail is that the bank told me that it was the postal service that notified them that I have moved from my new address to my old address. I suspect that the postal service may have somehow messed up my change-of-address request so that they are now forwarding all of my mail back to my old address instead of to my new address. I called the post office associated with my old address, but they didn't seem to understand anything. They didn't seem to think that there was anything strange about the bank being notified by the post office that I had moved back to my old address. They thought that that was somehow part of the normal change-of-address process. I asked them if there was any way to check which address the post office considers to be my current address, but they said that they can't check that. I suggested that maybe I'll submit another change-of-address request, but they said I shouldn't do that, because if I did, it would be even longer before I receive any mail. They told me the change-of-address request is probably still being processed. They told me to just keep waiting. Again... if they are indeed correctly processing my change-of-address request that I submitted two weeks ago, then why did the postal service tell my bank that I moved from my new address to my old address? Roommate filed a Family Change of Address with USPS, what happens to my mail? My housemate moved this past Saturday and filed a "Family" change of address with USPS. He was getting mail for himself and his deceased mother, so he assumed that this would kill two birds with one stone and forward all mail with that last name instead of filing individual forwards for each of himself and his mother. Also it was two packages that were shipped from different facilities so it is highly unlikely that the addresses got obscured on both packages. I can only assume that somehow the "Family" change of address has indicated to USPS that everyone moved from this house not just those with his last name. Unfortunately today is veterans day so I can't get a hold of anyone at USPS. My question is: 1. What can I do about this? 2. What has happened to my packages? Are they being forwarded to his new address even though we have different last names and his CoA shouldn't have affected me? When my roommate filed the "Family" change of address, that basically says everyone in the household is moving. Since our last names aren't the same, he thought it would be okay. But what actually happens is that mail with his last name gets forwarded to his new address, while first class mail with my last name gets returned to sender. Due to the "Family" change of address he filed, the post office believes that every existing occupant moved out, and since they don't have a forwarding address on record for me, they begin returning my first class mail to sender as "undeliverable as addressed". He needs to go in and cancel the "Family" change of address, and then put in "Individual" change of addresses for himself and his deceased mother who's mail he had coming here. I have recently become a victim of a phishing scam, and I am concerned that someone might attempt to try to "change my address" in order to receive my mail at another address. I have already taken care of the other security issues (i.e. social security, banking, credit bureaus, etc.); however, I was trying to see if there was some type of form I could fill out through usps.com in regards to taking care of it now...(they are closed on Sundays). Has anyone ever had this happen to them? At the moment, this is just an assumption; nothing has happened yet, but I feel it is very necessary to take the proper precautions. If I issue a temporary change of address at USPS, will my mail stop going to my old address? I'm a little annoyed because mail was sent to what WILL be my new address, but there is a tenant still in it and I am not moving there for a few months yet. The company seemed to misunderstand that I won't actually be living there until August and sent mail to me there anyway... So I'm embarrassed that the company used the address because the landlord called me about it. So, if I do a temporary change, then will mail bypass that address and come straight to my home? I applied for the change of address at USPS and the ebay seller somehow shipped it to my old address (via USPS First Class Mail Parcel), I tracked it and it said it was delivered but we went to my old house and the new resident said they didnt receive it, is USPS going to forward it to me or is the new resident maybe lying?

I moved and filed a change of address with US Post Office, will I get my stimulus Check? I changed my address with the USPS, in March, however not with the IRS. Will the check go to my old address or will it be forwarded to my new address, or will it be sent back to the IRS? Anyone know? Also, online mine says to be mailed out on June 11th. Change of Address Issue? I have moved several times but I have all of my old addresses. I have changed my address online from D(old) to E(new) now. But I am not sure about my old address in USPS record. Was it D now or A or B or C. Should I have written A, B or C as my old address while changeing online. Will system accept it from D to E or your old address you write must match with the old address in USPS record. OR When you change address online they verify Identity by asking Credit card info so in this way system should be able to verify that the person is correct and change it to new address even if you write an address which is older(previous to previous) but not exact old they have in their records? I am interested in using this for assistance with skip tracing, locating and thus sending a subpeona to a thief who is running from accountability after they recently moved to another state. We know the state, but not the exact address to send the subpeona and other legal documents to. USPS Change of Address Question? This is a very long question but there needs to be a little bit of backround information first. I currently moved and have attempted an address change. For 1 month in between moves I moved in with a friend of mine and had all of my mail temporally forwarded to my mothers house(she was receiving it). After I had moved into my house I did a permanent address change with the usps and its been about 4 weeks with no response and no mail. My mother did receive a letter sent to her house saying that the mail would be fowarded to the new address. Now I have gotten NOTHING.
