USPS Forever stamps, How do you identify old forever stamps? I have old stamps with no price on them, How do I find out what their value is, besides going to post office?
Forever stamps on USPS flat rate priority envelope? Hello. We have a flat rate priority USPS envelope. It costs $4.95 to mail and it and I was wondering if we could just put on a bunch of forever stamps to mail it. It would be around 12 of them because they are 44 cents each. Thanks.
Does the United States Post Office (USPS) still make Forever Stamps? I have a large stamp collection and will start adding Forever stamps if the post office intends to stop production on them. Please help me.
Does the usps still sell those forever stamps? does the us post office still sell them?
Do my USPS "forever" stamps need the increase extra stamp? My rolls of stamps say forever on them, I thought they might still mean it. Yes or No?
For mailing packages, can I use a USPS Forever stamp at its current value? I'm mailing a small package whose postage comes to $2.52. I am pretty sure that I can use seven forever stamps and that at the current 42 cent value that will be sufficient postage (7x.42= $2.52). This is based on the USPS page http://faq.usps.com/eCustomer/iq/usps/request.do?create=kb:USPSFAQ&view()=c{52eabcb0-efa5-11dc-67fc-000000000000} which states: "The postage value of the Forever Stamp is always the First-Class Mail single-piece 1-ounce letter price in effect on the day of use (the day of mailing). Forever Stamps purchased before May 12 are now worth 42 cents postage. Forever Stamps affixed to 1-ounce letters do not require additional postage. As always, customers still need additional postage for letters weighing over 1 ounce, letters subject to the nonmachinable surcharge, and mailpieces that are larger than letter-size." Typo correction: As the math will show, six stamps not seven would be needed.
USPS Forever stamp makes NO SENSE...same price as 41 cent stamp? Ok, so you now have a choice to buy a 41 cent stamp that is good until the next price hike or a 41 cent FOREVER stamp that is pretty much good forever. Ok, so who in there right mind is not gonna by the Forever Stamp? I don't get it please explain. Also, since the price of stamps usually go up about 10% every 2 to 3 years it's probably not a wise investment to purchase a 50,000 in Forever stamps. Just put it in a CD or Money market or your 401K it will work out better in the long run. But I still want a solid reason why anyone would buy the non forever variety, unless they just plan on collecting the regular stamps because they like collecting stamps.
What Ink Remover product works for stamps on paper? I am looking for an ink remover that works to remove ink stamps off of paper surface ie: cancellation stamp on usps forever stamp is there anything good enough to do the trick let me know Thanks
How many USPS stamps does it take? I want to send a Christmas card to Europe, from USA. I have rolls of standard "forever" stamps. How many of those would I need to mail a card to Europe (Norway)? I am trying to save myself a trip to the Postal Office. Thanks
can you use your own stamps on the USPS flat rate box, instead of just buying and printing a label online? I have loads of 84 cents stamps and 44 cents first class forever stamps that I never used. Can I just stick them on the flat rate priority box, and drop it off at the post office. If I can, how will I get tracking do I have to purchase it separately?
Stamp collector questions... Will the post office offer the forever stamp in rolls of 100 stamps? I am going to buy the forever stamps now while they are 41 cents and would like to get a roll of 100, but from looking at the USPS site it doesn't seem like they are selling them in rolls, only sheets. Does anyone know much about it? THanks..
Forever stamps for international mailing denied at post office? Hi. I often send packages/mails from US to abroad by usps. Since I have lots of forever stamps at home, I use them when I send those packages. However, local post office person sometimes says forever stamps can't be used for international mailing and they hesitate to take my package with forever stamps, saying they are not allowed to take them. So, I have to convince them that it's always sent to the destination without any problems and first of all, it says on usps.com that forever stamps can be used for international mailing. Yes it does. http://www.usps.com/mailpro/2008/marapril/page8.htm It really pisses me off cuz they make me feel bad that I'm doing something wrong. I always put enough stamps or pay additional cost if necessary and the package had never been returned to me. Is the information on usps.com old? Am I really not supposed to use forever stamps for international mailing?
Can you send mail to the Netherlands using U.S Forever stamps and a plain envolope? I want to send a Package to my brother who is living in the Netherlands and it's not that heavy 2.6 oz I am going to use a USPS box so is it possible to just put a bunch of stamps on it and an address or do I need to buy a special international mail envelope?
What prevents me from stockpiling 'forever stamps' and selling them at a profit in 20 years? I'm thinking arbitrage, baby! Let's assume that the increase in first class postage rates is inevitable, thus guaranteeing that the future value of my stamps is greater than today's value. What prevents me from purchasing stamps today and selling them tomorrow at a profit? Historically increases have been small but it sounds like the USPS needs to make a bigger increase to break even.
Will 2 forever stamps and 10c stamp get a 9" x 12" to it's within-US destination? I've put a light piece of cloth inside, the size of a piece of paper, so I don't think weight is my issue. I just can't figure out using the USPS site if that's enough postage. :P
Michael Jackson Forever Stamp? Wouldn't it be awesome if they made the USPS Forever Stamp a Michael Jackson stamp? I think they should consider it!
Just what is the differance between a 39 cent stamp and a forever stamp? In meaning, when you buy a stamp, you are really paying for a service you haven't received yet. Then they raise the price. Then they come up with a forever stamp and it's good forever. I guess USPS thinks we are idiots. Both stamps cost the same. What I'm meaning is , if you buy a stamp it should be good to mail a letter any time, they had our money interest free.
how many "forever" stamps do i put on a letter from ny to amsterdam? ok i need to send a normal letter from NY to amsterdam. i have stamps ut they say no value on them they just say "forever" on them with a picture of a bell. i just wanna know how many of them to put on the normal rectangular letter. please help me! p.s. DONT TELL MY TO GO TO USPS.COM CAUSE IT DOES NOTHING FOR ME.
How much longer will USPS sell the forver stamp? Can u still buy a book of Forever stamps int he USPS? if anyone knows FOR SURE LMK thanks
What are 44 cent stamps used for? Obviously, stamps are used to mail items, but the 44 cent stamps look really big as opposed to the regular 'Forever' USPS First Class stamps I see on a lot of letters. Are they used more for heavier packages? What's the price system according to different stamps?
I found some past "Forever Stamps"...what is their value? How do those "Forever Stamps" from the post office work? We have some from a few years ago, but there is no value showing on them. Is that the idea, that they just keep going up in value as the USPS raises its rates? Thanks everyone!
how much postage? can I use forever first-class stamps to mail to spain? I have a bunch of those "first-class forever" stamps laying around. How many of those will I need to mail a letter to Spain? The letter can't weigh much. They say .90 on USPS.com, do you think 3 will do it?
How do I mail a letter using usps from US to Malaysia? I have a friend that just moved there and I want to mail her a letter. What is the process and the postage/stamp that is necessary. More importantly how long does it take to arrive to Malaysia if mailed by usps? Thanks also can I use the forever stamp, first class?
is the forever stamp valid after 05-10-2009? I heard the other day that the forever stamp from the USPS will no longer be valid. Cost of stamps going up effective 05-10-2009.
Can I use 4 forever stamps to mail a 1 oz small box? I am mailing a small 2.5" x 2" box. It only weighs 1 maybe 2 oz. The USPS calculator says the price is the same for either weight... $1.71. Can I put 4 forever stamps on it to avoid the post office? I don't care if its over paying, I just want to save time if possible. I tried calling USPS just to find out that they are closed today. (didn't think about it being a holiday) I'd still like to drop it off today because I will already be out. Thanks!
Can I send a letter with two forever stamps when the "post office price" is $0.84? I'm trying to send a letter to my friend, and I used the postage calclator on the postcalc.usps.gov website.(I selected letter, weight: 1.05 ounces, envelope containing a ridgid object.) They told me I need to pay $0.84, however all I have are the forever stamps. Since they're worth $0.44 (I'm pretty sure) right now, putting two of them would be $0.88, right? So my questions are: 1. Would it send if I pay more than I need to? 2. Is it okay to use two forever stamps? Its the first time I'm sending a letter to someone, so I'm unsure.. Oh, and sorry if its the wrong category...
How many stamps to put on a 3 Pound box/package sendinng to Ontario? HI, I want to return a pair of shoes that I recieved that don't fit & I normally would go to the USPS or UPS but I have a bunch of forever & 44cent stamps lying around & I don't really need them...Does anyone know how much I have to stick on my box? It weighs approximently 3 pounds & needs to be shipped to Ontario, California. & I like in the bayarea. Or if anyone knows who I should ask for this info it would be great~! Thanks!
can stamps be used as cash at the usps? I was told by local post office it is federal offense to exchange stamps (flags for forever) - just bought a day ago and they said didn't have forever ones in a 100 so gave my spouse flags. thanks for answers - they do come in rolls of 100 at costco for one. also, just received e-mail back from usps.com - they say they can be exchanged if not ones you wanted to purchase
What happens when you do not put enough stamps on a letter you are mailing? I mailed a letter today in first class mail, but I did not realize until later that I went --slightly-- over the 1 ounce limit. And I needed to add 17 cents worth of stamps, but I did not. **The letter weighs --approximately-- 1.3 ounces ( +/- 0.1 ounces ) **There is a return address, but I believe the return address is incorrect. **There is only 1 Liberty Bell Forever Stamp on it. What will happen to the letter I sent? - Will the post office find the small error okay ( because it's only off by about 0.3 ounces ) and send it to the specified mailing address on the envelope without paying the extra 17 cents? - Will it be ripped & thrown away? - Will it be sent back to the return address? - Will they charge the recipient/sender 17 cents for going over 1 ounce? - Does USPS treat First Class Mail differently then regular mail? - Has anyone had this happen to them, and the letter was sent over fine without paying the extra cost?
If a letter weighs 1.6oz, will USPS carry it if I put two liberty bell stamps on it? My understanding is a liberty bell stamps equals 1oz first-class mail forever.
Intresting question about forever stamps what value do they have in terms of postage value? lets say you purchased a forever stamp (right before this new one) for 41C. Now it's obviously 42C. Lets say later on it becomes 45C (it will increase sooner or later). So lats say your paying for your package, but you are aloud to use postage for payment. So when sticking those postages to pay for a package (at USPS) will they calculate your payment in the old value of postage (the amount you paid for) or the new value (the amount it costs then to buy a forever stamp). P.S. Please include how you know the answer to your question. I don't want people just guessing the answer, and saying what they think the rules are.
Another USPS stamp Increase? The cost of a first-class stamp will rise to 42 cents starting May 12, the U.S. Postal Service said Monday. According to the U.S. Postal Service, the price of the Forever stamp will go up at the same time, meaning those stamps can still be purchased for 41 cents but will remain good for first-class postage after the rate increase takes effect. Do you send letters or pay your bills using the mail or do you send emails and use bill pay or online services?
First Class Stamps- Price Changes? I have some First Class USA stamps from the year 2006, depicting the Statue of Liberty in front of a flag. Can I still use these stamps without adding any additional postage, for mailing letters and such? I know USPS issued the Forever Stamp that can be used despite subsequent price changes, but this doesn't apply to older first-class stamps, does it?
Do you think the Forever stamp will be used forever? The USPS unveiled the new Forever stamp which costs 41 cents cuz once again postage is going up in price. But they hope to have this stamp will eliminate people using 1 cent and 2 cent stamps to make up for new rates. They have the Liberty Bell on them too. How cool is that? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070326/ap_on_go_ot/forever_stamp
I am trying buy "Forever us postage stamp " from Ebay? Does this link http://cgi.ebay.com/P-s-4127d-MNH-42c-Liberty-Bell-Forever-Stamp-5302a-/370392907889?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563d234071 seem good deal? It look like a good deal with both sides of 20 pane, but I am worrying wheter my USPS will delivery the "2008" stamp? 2008 is already expired. but I notice that a lot ppl use 2007 or 2009 stamps...does it mean that 2008 year is still good?
How would I send a letter internationally? Hi. I would like to send a letter from the US to France. I have never done this before, how do I get the postage correct? On the USPS website it says that sending a letter internationally should cost $1.79, can I make this amount with those forever stamps? Do I have to go to the post office and get a special kind? Thanks.
Do I have to go to the post office to send a letter internationally? I'd like to send a letter to Holland. On the USPS website, it says it costs 98 cents to send a letter there by First Class International Mail. Can I just put 3 forever stamps on there and drop it in a mailbox or do I need to go to a post office for some reason? What other special instructions do I need to take in sending my letter? Thanks in advance for the advice!
How long does it take for mail to get to HI? How long does it take for someone in HI to receive a letter by me sent on the 10th of this month? I put two forever stamps on it and dropped it off outside the post office in El Monte, CA. Please don't put a link to the USPS site, I went to it and it confussed the hell outta me.
My recent experience at the post office (USPS) tells me that monopolies treat customers poorly. Do you agree? Below is the complaint that I wrote to the USPS. I was at the above-mentioned USPS location sometime between 12 and 1 pm on the shown date. While attempting to buy stamps, I was treated very poorly by the only employee on duty at that time. The male employee's poor attitude first caught my attention when he and a woman, who was in line a few people in front of me, had a less-than-friendly discussion: after the woman paid using cash and coins, the employee said that she had not provided the correct amount and asked for a few more pennies. It turned out the woman had provided the correct amount, but the employee had added wrong. The employee returned the pennies but did not apologize. The woman left after saying that it is his math and not hers that was wrong. Subsequently, the employee served a few more customers before a Hispanic man approached the counter. I discerned that the man was Hispanic from the conversation in Spanish he was having with another customer. Initially this man had a difficult time explaining what he needed since he did not speak English well. After spending some time trying to figure out what the customer was saying, the employee lost his patience and made it a point to demonstrate his irritation: at one point the employee had his palms pressed against his eyes with his elbows on the counter to support the weight of his head. After a while the employee figured out what was required by the customer, and they completed the transaction. Regardless, the employees hostile demeanor was unbecoming of a well-run business (especially one trusted with the privilege of having a monopoly on domestic mail) A few minutes later, I got to the front of the line and approached the counter. Initially I told the male employee that I needed 10 stamps but, as he reached down and grabbed a sheet of 10 stamps, I quickly specified that I needed 10 Forever stamps. Clearly irritated, the male employee said that Forever stamps only come in sheets of 20 stamps (a fact I did not know) and that he did not have any available. I was disconcerted by the employee's behavior but continued with the transaction. I pointed to the sheet of 10 stamps he had pulled out and said, "Two of these would be fine." I meant to ask for 2 individual stamps, but I did not realize that I had misspoken until the employee brought out another sheet with 10 stamps. In my defense, the employee could have prevented the miscommunication by asking me to be more specific. I quickly APOLOGIZED and specified that I needed 2 individual stamps and not 2 sheets. At that point, the employee lost his bearings completely; he was intimidating and belittling as he went on to list the errors that I had made since approaching the counter. He continued to badger me even as I once again APOLOGIZED. As he finished his speech, I continued to be polite in order to ease the tension. I even asked him if it would be easier for him to have me pay using cash or credit. Regardless, the employee's belligerent attitude did not change. As soon as the transaction was complete, I said "You could try being a little nicer." He dismissed me by saying "Ok. Next customer." I left immediately. The employee's behavior towards me and other customers was clearly unacceptable. If I had other options for sending domestic mail, I would have chosen to never again do business with the USPS. I am sure some of the other customers who were at the post office that day would agree with me. I hope the USPS will take this issue seriously and take appropriate action.
Can you buy straight out on Ebay or do you always have to make a bid? I really need to buy Forever stamps, the liberty bell ones, for a self addressed stamped envelope. The USPS aren't currently taking orders outside of the U.S. I live in Ireland., Ebay is another option but I don't wanna have to bid on them, do you always have to bid or can you just buy it straight out????
If my envlope ws heaviest&largest possible 4 1st clas USPS mail, cud I mail it w/just 1 1st class 4ever stamp? If my envelope was the heaviest and largest possible for first class USPS mail, could I mail it with just one first class forever stamp? Ya, I know of it and that's why I'm asking this question: https://www.usps.com/send/first-class.htm So they work for postcards and letters up to 1 oz? An additional stamp for each additional ounce?
USPS shipping question? So I ordered an iPod case frOm amazon and it came wrong. Help with Priority Mailing USPS? I went to the kiosk in the post office and I weighed my package and to send it Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation it came to a total of $5.70($5.05 for Priority and .65 for the Confirmation). I have a lot of Forever Stamps (.42) and 1 cent stamps that I'd like to use. 1) Can I use these stamps to add up to the correct amount of postage and will it still be sent Priority? Assuming 1) above is true: 2) Do I need to afix $5.70 worth of postage stamps? Or do I afix $5.05 worth of postage stamps and then pay the .65 when I go into the Post office counter to get the Delivery Confirmation slip?
Sending a Parcel Post (USPS)? I have a package I'm sending Parcel post. The postage is 5.03. Can I put my forever stamps and my 1cent stamps on the box as my postage as long as I have the correct amount? If anyone has working knowledge of the Postal Service could answer that would be more reassuring for me. Thanks! oh..right now i have about 20 1cent stamps on it lol..and the label is electronically printed from online..so the addresses and barcodes and stuff are not covered or anything..its on the top portion of the box actually oh and in regards to the second poster below, im told that you cant put tape or any kind of coverage over stamps..they wont take em...as far as a i know.
Did you know that the "FOREVER STAMP" is coming out on April 12 - my B-DAY and I will be 41? I truly feel Like I am the luckiest girl alive!!! This is the BEST Birthday Gift Ever! Thanks USPS! .......... 2007 i am just so happy - I had to share with the rest of the world :)
USPS Question: Can I use this postage stamp? Hi I live in CA and I have this Christmas blue spruce stamp which says "USA Forever" on it. Can I use it to send a letter?
Shipping video game question? I was wondering If I could ship a video game in a padded envelope with a forever stamp on it, and drop it off in a nearby usps mailbox, or is there more to that?
Sending a letter to Canada...? If I'm sending a regular letter to Canada, are two forever stamps enough? Is it okay if I drop it in the blue usps boxes near my house? Yes, I'm sending it from the US.
If the US Treasury invested in USPS forever stamps, could they make money when stamp prices go up again? Could this help retire the national debt? In a few months when stamp prices go up a nickel, they will be rolling in gravy. Just like when we elected Obama. Good ideas are far and few these days.
Is the US Postal Service on its way out? Everyone knows that the USPS hasn't been making much money lately. The ad flyers are the only thing that seems to be keeping it alive. And now they've come out with the Forever Stamp. They've always needed to raise the prices every year to stay in business. Do you think that this is their last stand because they don't figure on lasting much longer? I worked for the USPS for a while and I know first-hand how unorganized everything is anymore. There's always rumors around of it becoming privatized and all of the government employees being laid off.
How do I send a letter from New Jersey, USA to Gujarat, India and the cost? My boyfriend lives in india and I would like to send him a letter. I recently bought these stamps from the post office they say "Usa First-Class Forever" on them....but there is no price written on them telling worth. I don't know how much postage I need to send him a letter. Will I be able to use these stamps? If so how many of them do i need to send a letter to Gujarat, India? Also once I write the address and put stamps can i just put it in the mailbox? or do I have to go to the post office as it is an international mail? Since it is international mail does it need to be sent through post office like if they have any procedures or anything? I really need to know this as I can't ask my family as they don't know about my boyfriend. If I put the wrong amount of stamps the mail will be returned to my house which will cause problems with my family. I looked up this all at usps.com but it didn't really help me. If somebody could help, I'd be very thankful.
Where To Buy Liberty Bell 'Forever' Stamps other than USPS or E Bay? First of all, I live in Ireland and second, the USPS doesn't take international orders right now. Anyone have any answers cos it's really, REALLY important to get these?! It's important I get them because I need them for an SAE.
USA First-Class (Not Forever) Stamp? I found a first-class stamp in my desk drawer earlier and am hoping to use it. It does not have a value on the stamp, but it is NOT labeled as a forever stamp. How do I know the value of the stamp? Does it matter? (The stamp could potentially be up to five years old.) If it helps, the stamp is a light-brown background with an American flag on it. Is it still usable as a first-class stamp, despite possibly not being the current first-class rate? Is there a way (on or off the USPS website) to tell what the value of an old stamp is? Thanks for your help!
How to get delivery confirmation USPS? so i got this letter, containing about 3 sheets of paper with 1 forever stamp on it. im mailing from CA to NY, and i want to make sure that it gets there. Is this enough postage, and how do i get a delivery confirmation from the post office?
