US Postal Service jobs, how to get them? I'm searching on the USPS website for exam openings and there are hardly none. If there are no exam openings does that mean they are not hiring? The only job opening I see are maintenance positions and temporary positions. How long is the typical temp position? Should I visit a post office and ask them about their openings or is this website recent?
US Postal Service - A Job? A man applies for a job with the US Postal Service. He attends his interview and is doing really well. At one point the interviewer says "I see you have some military service behind you. Because this is a Government job, that will stand you in good stead. By the way, where did you serve?" The candidate replies "I served in Vietnam. I was captured by the enemy and spent several years in a POW Camp." "My goodness!" replies the interviewer "That must have been awful!" "It was" says the candidate, hanging his head "They tortured me, and part of that involved having my testicles removed." The interviewer is really shocked, but decides he wants to employ the candidate "Ok, I've heard enough" he replies "I think we can off you a job, you seem to be the sort of person we're looking for. The hours are Monday to Saturday 8am until 6pm, I'll see you on Monday at 9am". The candidate is confused "Hang on a second" he replies "If the job starts at 8am, why don't you want me until 9?" The interviewer smiles "This is a Government job" he replies "When we come into work in the morning we sit around for an hour scratching our balls and there's no point in you coming in for that!"
How many years back does the US postal service go on background checks? Will they regard any records that are 16 years old? I was playing with matches when I was a teenager, and I was charged with arson because the school THOUGHT I had intent to burn the school down, but I did not intend to, it was all a big misunderstanding. I was a able to get a job with UPS (United Parcel Service) and pass their background and I worked for them for 4 years, so why not the Postal service?
Joke - A job with the US Postal Service? A man applies for a job with the US Postal Service, and is invited for interview. The interviewer says "I see you've spent some time in the military. That will count in your favour, since this is a government job. By the way, have you been anywhere interesting?" "Yeah" says the man, "I served in Vietnam". "What was that like?" asks the interviewer. "Well," he says "it was pretty grim. I got captured and tortured. During my torture they surgically removed my testicles!" The interviewer is shocked but impressed. "Ok," he says "I'd like to offer you a job - the hours are 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, I'll see you at 10am on Monday." "Hold on" says the candidate "you just said the hours are 8am to 6pm. Why don't you want me to come in until 10am?" "Let me explain" says the interviewer "this is a government job. When we come into work in the mornings we sit around for 2 hours scratching our balls, and there's no point in you turning up for that!!!!"

How do you get hired by the US Postal Service? There's an ad in my local paper that tells me to dial a 913 number. Then I hear a long message about how easy and good a post office job is. Just send them a $38 application fee (that they guarantee to return if you're not hired after a year). I went to indeed.com and they had an 800 number that also made it seem too easy. How does it really work?
Does anyone knows how to apply for us postal service? Im thinking of going to apply at these please, but i dont know what u need to have or study in order to get hired ! also does anyone in here knows how to apply for like; City jobs? any help would be appreciated!.
The US Postal Service needs $7.8B bailout , why would you entrust your health care to the same group of people? The US Postal Service is now projecting it will need a $7.8 Billion dollar bail out from the federal government, on top of cutting all Saturday mail deliveries. This projected $7.8B deficit comes even after the USPS saved $6B last year by cutting 40K jobs and implementing many other cost saving methods. Also, the USPS finished fiscal year 2009 $3.8B dollars in the red. My question to all you government health care supporters: Why the hell would you trust you life to a government that can't even mail a letter with losing money? If they are so incompetent they cannot keep a semi-private, profit making (supposedly) making venture like the USPS above the water financially, why would you think they could keep you healthy? Or not raise your taxes to ridiculous rates to support their health care fiasco? Bad Elephant: You Fail!!! Go back to school Libby.. You need it... See "independent agency of federal government" From Wikipedia: The United States Postal Service (USPS) is an independent agency of the United States government responsible for providing postal service in the United States. It is one of the few government agencies explicitly authorized by the United States Constitution. Within the United States, it is commonly referred to as the "Post Office", "Postal Service", or "U.S. Mail". Hey Hondo, Maybe you could explain it to me? No? Didn't think so.. I'm going by track records here.. Maybe you Libs could show me one goverment program, agency, hell even one office that operates efficently, doesn't waste MY tax money, and can stay within it's yearly budget. I'll give you a hint, there are none!! Oh Back to you Bad Elephant (should be Dumb Donkey) All the companies you listed are now out of business as they should be. An out of business cannot waste money. The trouble with all goverment agencies is they cannot go out of business for wasting MY tax dollars, stupid politicians just throw more $$$ at them.. The ONLY efficient dept. in any government is the tax collectors...
Does the US Postal Service pay for workers' gas? I have a bachelor's degree in accounting, and due to my limited experience I am lucky to get a job that pays $17-18 an hour, around $37,000-$40,000 annually. I notice that the US Postal Service advertises $20/hr if you pass the battery exam with a high score. This is better paying than what I would have otherwise with a bachelor's degree, insane! What I am wondering is if those who have to use their own car starting out also have to pay for their own gas. $20/hr. isn't so glamourous if you have to shell out $50 or more on gas daily. Does the USPS cover the fuel expenses for those not given the sweet postal truck?
Remember when the US Postal service used to be run by the gov't? And it was bleeding money, so back in the 1970's they basically privatized it with strict gov't oversight. And since then, they make money almost every year. If that has worked for over 30 years, why not try it in other areas? Education, Corrections, Parks Dept., welfare, social security to name a few. Aren't all of these institutions failing under direct gov't control presently? And costing us money? Maybe by privatizing things with gov't oversight like the USPS did, we could start to fix things, lower the budget and cut taxes and create jobs all at once right? Any thoughts? I'm not saying the Post Offive is a paragon of virtue but remember it back in the early 1970's when they were simply a "branch of the gov't" they are a LOT better now by comparison. "In 1971, the department was reorganized as a quasi-independent agency of the federal government and acquired its present name" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_Postal_Service
What happens after passing the US Postal Service Exam? I passed the USPS exam a couple of months ago. Then, two weeks ago, I received a letter stating that I can create an online profile through the USPS employment website to apply for jobs because I have passed the exam and I'm in the USPS database. I created a profile online, and I searched for jobs in every category, but only 3 are listed in the entire state of Texas--all of them corporate or sales positions. I passed a carrier exam, and I find it hard to believe that there are no current job openings for carriers in all of Texas! What should I do to apply for a carrier position? The letter I received said that the USPS contacted people in the past for interviews, but they are in the midst of switching to an all-online process now where everyone must apply instead of being contacted. I feel like I'm caught between the old way and new way since it seems they're not posting carrier positions online in my area yet. Is it possible they'll still call, or is there someplace else I should apply? Has anyone recently been hired by the USPS who can share their experience? Thanks for any advice!
Busted for pot once, can I still work @ US Postal Service? 11 years ago when I was a teen, I was charged w/ possession of a small amt. of marijuana & paraphernalia. I'm now considering a job as a mail courier, but a friend told me they won't hire me because of that petty misdemeanor charge. Anyone know if this is true? Thanks in advance. Was your uncle arrested and charged with possession of crack? I was 19, so I don't think it's sealed. Wow Barry, that's deep, man. Dude, like, whoa. Something to think about, indeed. Bite it, Barry. If anything, the herb woulda kept me from going postal.
I may work for the United States Postal Service.? I am thinking about working for the US POSTAL service. I called the toll free number. They advised me that there are positions available. However, I am apprehensive because they asked me for $100 deposit to sign up for a test, and than they will arrange for an interview. The starting wage is $20 per hour, and I consider that a good living because I'm in an unstable sales job.
US Postal Service-Track and Confirm...too long!? I have a package that is suppose to be here in 2-5 days. My package was put in on the 11th, Saturday- here's what the tracking infor says on the site--- Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on April 11, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later. Why does it keep saying this? Are they just being lazy and not picking up my package, or being lazy and not updating the info online? This has happened several times to me that a package is late from the ups-I've had packages that was overnighted and not recieved till 3 days later, which would be the same amount time if it were mailed normally! Once I even tracked a package where it said my package was in a town only 2 hours away from me at 10am-yet I did not recieve it till 2 days later. I thought they are suppose to keep sending it till the end of the day of work (around 5pm). Why is the ups people SOOO damn lazy here and not doing their job!
I'm going to take an electronics technician exam given by the US Postal Service.? The exam number is 932. Has anyone reading this ever taken this exam? How difficult is it? What could I study to prepare for it? I really don't have any experience as an electronics technician. I am good at taking tests though. I took an electronics exam to get a job with the phone company, and they did not seem to be very concerned about my lack of experience. Am I wasting my time to take the exam? Francheska: Do you really think your response is worth 2 points?
Will the US Postal Service Hire me For a Carrier postion if I had my Drivers License for less than 2 YRS? I have a job interview with USPS this week for the position of job Carrier. The interview letter reads "You must possess a valid driver's license w/ two years driving experience." The problem I am having is that I have only had my driver's license for a year and two months; but I had my learner's permit for three yrs before I received my license. Will they waive it or will they not consider me for the job at all? If any of you are (in fact) a Carrier for a post office, I would really like to hear your response!! If not i still would like to hear your response! Thanks!!!
US Postal service test? I called today because I saw an ad in the paper for a job at the post office....they said i needed to purchase a registration/test pack and I could get my money back if i didn't pass, if i didn't get an interview or after a week of working. I gave them my checkcard number and information but then I got scared and didn't think it was legit enough so I cancelled it right away. They gave me a cancel confirmation number and their name. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been through this....and did you get your money back? NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS PLEASE
Jobs Advertised on Career Builder for Shipping/Receiving Managers by EM Service Company, London, UK.? I was offered a job by EM Service Company, 31 Leicester Square, London WC2H 7LA, UK. Phone # 01332 522924. FAX 01332 522938. I received a contract from an Eduardo Gamba (gambaeduardo@gmail.com) who is supposedly the Office Manager. The contract basically said that I will be receiving packages, which needed to be consolidated occasionaly and delivered to the US Postal Service. It also promised a payment of USD3000/month to be paid at the end of each month. All through the month of Dec.09, I received approx 100 packages which I handled for this company. However, at the end of the 30 day period when I asked for my compensation I stopped receiving packages and never heard from Eduardo Gamba again. This whole business is a scam, and I have already filed an IC3 Form which monitors Internet Fraud and scams such as these. I would like to know if anyone out there is currently or in the past worked for this company. I would also like unsuspecting victims to know that this is one big scam and do not waste your time working for them.
My boyfriend is looking for ideas for a civil service job? He wants out of his job, and was thinking about taking a civil service test. The only problem is, he doesn't really know what his options are. He graduated high school, but never went to college. Right now he works at a body shop, and the only civil service job he knows of is a postal service worker. Help us out?? We live in PA
What is the easiest way to apply for a job with the United States Postal Service? I am currently in the US Army, but will soon be getting out. I know that the Postal Service likes to hire Veterans of War. I have been doing some web searching, and have found job postings on hot-wire and other job search websites, but i don't want to go through them. I just wanna apply straight through the Postal Service. I am currently deployed so walking into a post office is not an option. Any help would be great.
How do I report unfair treatment of employees by some postal contractors? Employees who are friends with supervisors get special favors as a results those employees are allow to do and say things to the less favored and are allow to get away with it. An example is people are reminded not to ride on Pallett Jacks yet some are allow the stupid practice of using them as skate boards. We sort mail for the US Postal service. There are times when you are back up and need help some people just get yell at and are treatened by the very previlaged few if the process is momentery delayed for safety reasons. There is constant reminders of how much you are paid and how many people are waiting to get the job you are holding. It goes on and on.

Who works for the US Post Office? Was it difficult for you to get hired? When I call the toll free number for info, I'm asked for money in order to purchase a study guide, and nothing else. Please tell me the appropiate steps to apply for a postal position (those of you who already have postal service jobs). Thank you! I worked for the USPS in another state about 15 0r 16 years ago, and the hiring procedure just isn't the same now as it was then.

what jobs offer health insurance, without a college degree? i'm looking into job possibilities for my fiance, that offer health insurance for him and his wife [me]. he started college but has no desire to finish, so he needs to choose a career to support us, he's currently a waiter. he needs to get a job that offers us health insurance because i had a childhood cancer, and need to get checked every year, but in my career [hairdresser] insurance isnt offered. we already are in the process of checking out postal service jobs, they offer quite a nice pay, with good benefits, they just take time to obtain and are hard to get. so what are some other options?
Anyone have any dealing with the Department of Labor or Postal Service in refererence to work related injury? Currently the postal service is in the process of what they call national reassessment process--or out-placement. Which is really where they no longer offer the injured employees jobs or take their current modified jobs away. In doing so--they turn us back to the Department of Labor for rehab. Which really only (according to the Department of Labor) gives us 90 days to "learn how to do a resume, learn how to conduct an interview and FIND a job in the real world and then we are terminated--yes I did say terminated from our jobs with the postal service. With all loss of benefits. Now, my question --is just how legal is this?? We have actually given our bodies and years of our lives for this job and we are treated like this? I have been told that I am not even closely able to retire under any type of disability--that was by the Department of Labor. My injury is a permanent back injury and my doctor states that I do have permanent restrictions. So, help will be appreciate
How does a citizen file a formal complaint against a local post office for poor service? I am sure that I have seen a complaint form, but not recently. Are there on line forms to print out or email? We live in a small town, and some of the postal employees are getting old and are rude and inconsiderate, acting like they are doing us a favor to do their civil service job which most people would be thrilled to have! But it's worse than that... Our packages are delivered to the post office: we do not have door-to-door mail service. The postal employees insert a card in our post office box, letting us know to pick up packages. Lately, it seems they often don't bother. When the parcel is a few days late in arriving, we ask and they mysteriously appear back there after they search around for awhile. We have paid for First Class or Priority Mail, and by that time, we have actually received our shipment much later, and may as well have paid for the sluggish Parcel Post. When I pay for Delivery Confirmation, they will actually scan the packages but not deliver them! I'll go on their website, and it will say it was delivered yesterday, but I have not received it! When I complain, it's just oh well, here it is. I think they need to be reported to a higher authority. So.... how do I do that? I have searched on the USPS website, and cannot find a thing there.
Could your US post office be closing? As mail volume declines, the US Postal Service could shutter up to 3,200 post offices and retail outlets. Most people say they understand -- unless it's their post office. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Inv... By The Big Money A rallying cry can be heard across the country, from the swanky streets of New York's SoHo to the tiny town of Randolph, Kan.: "Save our post office!" As the United States Postal Service, weighed down by a crippling multibillion-dollar deficit, shrinks its operations, post offices across the country are on the chopping block. Each year, hundreds of postal operations shutter, but this coming fall could be the single biggest consolidation in Postal Service history. Over the next three months, more than 3,200 post offices and retail outlets -- out of 34,000 -- will be reviewed for possible closure or consolidation. Downsizing is a business imperative, says Linda Welch, acting vice president of delivery and post office operations at the Postal Service. "Revenues have declined, and mail volume continues to decline," she says. Not only have e-mail and electronic bill paying made for a skinnier mail stream, but the recession has caused a sharp pullback in advertising mail that has hurt the Postal Service even more. In March, Postmaster General John Potter asked Congress for the right to reduce the mail week from six days to five, for a savings of $3.5 billion. Shutting down post offices will have similar cost-saving effects. And most Americans say they're OK with the cutbacks, as long as they don't have to pay more to send mail. A recent USA Today/Gallup poll found that more Americans would rather the Postal Service curtail services than seek a bailout or raise stamp prices. At least, that's what everyone says -- until it's their beloved post office at stake. For various reasons, people tend to react with great fervor when their local offices are endangered. Consider the case of the Hawleyville Post Office. After years of negotiations, the Postal Service in January notified the Connecticut community that its 166-year-old post office would close Feb. 14. An article in the local newspaper poignantly noted, "The long love affair between the Hawleyville post office and its loyal customers will come to an end on, of all days, Valentine's Day." Its post office was rickety, but the community embraced it as a gathering place. One resident told the Newtown Bee, "The Hawleyville Post Office is like Cheers in Hawleyville." * Follow MSN Money on Twitter In fear of losing its precious haunt, the community mobilized. A Web site and online petition drive were created. Members got Congress involved. And lo and behold, the community won approval for a new post office, to be opened this summer. Every time a post office is slated for closure or consolidation, the Postal Service is legally obligated to inform its customers well in advance. "There's a very long process that they have to go through," says Mario Principe, the post office continuance consultant at the National League of Postmasters. That gives the communities plenty of time, usually at least two months, to stage a rescue. Anatomy of a closure The Postal Service will typically send out a survey or host a town hall meeting before an endangered office closes. Perhaps the closing of a post office means too many lost jobs for an already-hurting community. The office might house the bulletin board that posts important community announcements. Or the next-closest post office may be really far away. If customers alert officials to such concerns, there's a better chance that their office will be spared. Appealing the closure decision to the Postal Regulatory Commission often works, too, though it's a step many communities don't know to take. It's also important to check out why a post office is on the chopping block in the first place. Those under review this summer are mostly metropolitan branches or stations. But in the case of small post offices, federal law states that the reason can't be just that the office isn't bringing in enough revenue. If that's the only explanation given, then the Postal Service can't legally shut it down. Video on MSN Money Penny © Corbis Postmaster General seeks help Without an infusion, the Postal Service will go broke this year, the postal chief, John Potter, told Congress in March. Should it get a bailout? Oftentimes, post offices face closure because their leases expire. That's the case in Deer Harbor, Wash. After attempts to find a new location for the post office failed, the community decided "in desperation" to buy the property just to keep it in business. If the community can raise the $250,000 purchase price by the June 30, the Postal Service says it will continue operations there. The Postal Service seems willing to negotiate, and it's not really bothered by the protests. "It actually it makes us very pro

Whats the best path to becoming an Air Traffic Controller? Im looking to find a new job and my Grandfather said this was the field to shoot for. Im having no luck in Ohio with an Associates in Computer Scioence and an Associates in Electrical Engineering. I might have to change fields :( Any Suggestions??? He also suggested the US Postal Service (he was a post master).
Ron Paul wants to get rid of the FBI? I remember reading somewhere, through I can't remember where, that Ron Paul is planning to get rid of the FBI. Is this true? I am a proud supporter of him and completely agree with him when it comes to things like: getting rid of income tax, federal reserve, and the CIA. But I mean why would anyone want to get rid of the FBI, they solve major crime cases and help in federal investigations. Come on, if the FBI didn't exist who would combat crime at a national level, the US Postal Service?. Not to mention the nearly 30,000 people who would lose their job if it was shut down.
career options question? at my current job for the us postal service i make 18.24 an hr, i want to do medical billing and coding. it will cost me 1500 to take a course in medical billing and coding and probally 500 for the state test. i will be making about 14-15 an hr in that field. i rather do medical coding and billing but it pays less. do you think its worth less pay to do what you want to do??
court dismissal? i've heard many people tell me that a case that was dismissed from court is still on ur record and that u can have that part of ur record exspunged or sealed from public view. i'm not sure if these things are true(shit house lawyers) my main concern is the interference of job opportunities. for instance....i'm looking to pursue a job with the us postal service. i have military time so i hope it counts for something, but i have a dismissed assault by pointing a gun on my criminal record. i feel that if the case was dismissed there was some good reason for this dismissal. if i'm not convicted then arent i still innocent of the crime. like the court says "innocent until proven guilty" not innocent until proven guilty but if ur case is dimissed its better to think ur guilty than let u be innocent...is there anything i can do in order to keep my chances of getting a job anywere
Will a 13 Year old Expunged Felony Conviction prevent me from getting a job with the U.S. Postal Service? Long story short....Thirteen years ago, I was a bank teller and was blamed for cashing a check for a customer on an account that wasn't hers. The bank blamed me for it, and pressed charges, even though a total stranger was the one that cashed the check and left the bank with the money. I was a single mother, couldn't afford an attorney, had to use a public defender, who told me that I would go to jail for 5-10 years if I didn't plead guilty. Another long story short, he told me that I would be able to have it Expunged after the case was over. I thought Expunged meant ERASED, and BOY was I wrong. I never went to jail, was ordered probation, but it was cancelled immediately, they just wanted to convict SOMEBODY, and I was responsible. I am now seeking employment and have registered with an agency in the Dallas area. They REALLY want me to go and interview with the US Post Office. It's EXCELLENT money, but they require Security Clearance!! I haven't had any problems getting other jobs, but I also haven't been fingerprinted for any other jobs. I have had regular criminal background checks, but nothing shows up. Should I even bother applying? They (Post Office) ask if I have had any convictions in the past 7 years, and I had and have NEVER been in trouble except for that. Should I save myself the embarrassment at my agency?
Why do some people feel that the Government can do a better job administering Health Care than private indus. Welfare: Created a Generation dependent on Government handouts but in the 40+ years since its inception has done nothing to get rid of the poor. Social Security: Always in danger of going broke and doesn't provide seniors enough to live on. US Postal service: As most correspondence is done through e-mail and most businesses use UPS and FEDEX for important stuff and most bills can now be paid on line, the only thing I've seen it do lately is provide me with a never ending stream of Junk Mail. Steven can we have an example where they have done this and it actually worked? FASCFITER: Considering all the Baby Boomers paid SS their entire working lives, Why is it endanger of going broke? Mr Bellows: SS takes money out of my paycheck every pay day. It is my money. It is a right not an entitlement! Netta: When did these unfortunates problems become mine. Why is it that when I complain about the unfairness of the Vile Corrupt and Disgusting Family Court System and the $1,000.00 a month it allows my ex wife to steal in child support everyone says it is my responsibility to support my children, but these so called unfortunates are not held to the same level?
Current employer asking for resume? My friend works for the US Postal Service and they've been asked to turn in updated resumes. This seems to be part of deciding who will be layed off, but is he competing for his job with this resume or are they deciding who has the best chance of finding new employment? Other ideas? Anyone been in this situation before?
Do you know anything about getting a job at the post office? I've been thinking lately of becoming a postal worker for the US Postal Service. Ideally, I would like to deliver mail, however, I don't know to much about the job other than I would have to take a civil service test. My questions are: 1.) What are their usual starting pay for that position or any position for that matter (I would be working in Ohio) 2.) I've heard in some instances, there are waiting lists to get into the Postal Service - is that really true? 3.) What exactly is on the Civil Service Test and do I take that first and then apply with the Post Office or vice versa? 4.) Have you or anyone you know worked for the postal service? If so, did they like their job? I am 25 years old

my wife is being told she cant be paid for her sick leave. help? My wife just called me from work, she works at the us postal service in our town. They, like most other government jobs, have a policy where you get a certiain time of sick leave for every day you work etc. Anyway, last week our 3 year old was sick with a flu or similiar virus, we took her to the doctor and were told she had something, but that no medicine etc was needed, just rest, water and care. soon after we came home, i got sick, and then my wife got sick. She called in using her sick leave but she herself didnt go to a doctor, infact, we dont even have a family doctor for ourselves here yet, only my daughter has one she sees regualarly. She returned to work after a few days time, and her boss said nothing to her. Now, the second day she is back so far and she called to tell me they told her she is not being paid sick leave because she has no doctors notice, and that she is going to be under investigation? anyway, needless to say we have no idea what to do we cant afford to not get paid for the days we both missed, we live pretty much paycheck to paycheck and have no savings right now. She has no idea what the investigation is and her boss is being very rude suggesting she took sick days to just play around. She is very upset right now, trying to get through her day, and I dont know how i can help her. any information would be helpful also, i know now we should have gone to a doctor, but when you have two kids and are pregnant you dont have a lot of time to do that really. also, we had JUST taken our 3 year old the day before, it was obvious they both had the same little flu virus
Question about early separation? Hi, my fiance was in the Navy for about 6 months before being discharged during A-School with the recommendation of a psychiatrist due to recurring panic attacks. He got an RE-4 Code but has no desire to rejoin the military anyway... his separation code was KFV, unqualified for active duty - other. I believe it was a general discharge under honorable conditions. Can anyone tell me how difficult it will be for him to get a job at this point? He is applying with the US Postal Service - how much of a chance does he have of getting a job there? Thanks in advance.
What should I do if I quit my job and they refuse to send me my last paycheck? I recently quit my job, and they refuse to send my paycheck via mail. My last day was 4/10/2009 and we get paid on a bi-weekly basis; which means my check should have been mailed out on 4/16/2009... Apparently it wasn't because I'm one week shy of a month from then and still have no check. I've tried to contact them via US postal service, telephone, and e-mail and get no response. I'm already in the process of taking action through my state's labor commissioner, but was wondering if I should do anything else or just wait it out and see what happens with my claim. I need advice!

Any Advice.....? I just accepted a position with the US Postal Service as a carrier. I am an attractive, petite female and I don't see too many female carriers where I live. I already have a good job making good money and they begged me to stay but everyone told me I would be a fool not to take a Federal Government job with an excellent retiring plan. Any advice, did I make the right decision? I start in June so it's too late now. I would love to hear from any Postal Workers...female especially.
Please help me my mailman is lazy? I have an iron gate across my driveway at my house. There is a bell approximately 7 feet from the curb. I have a mailman that uses my gate as an excuse to never a tempt to deliver a package. He fills out his delivery slip and leaves. On numerous occasions I have been at home, or even in my yard. In total disgust I have contacted the post office delivery supervisors. Here are if you of the reasons I have been given as to their employee’s lack of motivation. 1.You have a gate. 2.Do you have dogs? 3.Your mailbox is more than 3 inches from the curb. 4.He didn't think you were home. 5.Can't you pick up your own mail(hello it is approximately 20 miles round-trip) The problem is you have to ring the bell in order to alarm anyone you are there. Yesterday I observed that jerk so I pushed the remote, and about 45 seconds may be one minute past and he drove away. I called the post office, maybe he didn't see you, and maybe he didn't see the gate open, even though he was sitting right next to it. So I instructed the supervisor just have him leave it tomorrow. Today it's not here, I called back the same supervisor proceeds to tell me the mailman just drove away when he saw my gate open because I didn't walk out there. When I asked why he didn’t come to my door, he stated he is scared to come to your door. Give me a break US Postal Service it's threatening to that lazy mail deliver you have. The truth is you have a very juvenile old man that is kicked off because I complained about his lazy behind. Once again today I was asked can you come pick it up. What the hell for, why should I do the mailman's job? Can somebody please tell me if you have had similar experiences and what to do? Unfortunately the postmaster is as big of a joke as the mail deliver. I live in Northern California These people want a raise, is this supposed to be a bad joke? My mailbox is at the curb following the government's guidelines about mailbox placement. My gate has a 20 foot setback; approximately 7 feet from the curb is a bell that rings in my house. If the mailman were to walk to push the bell out my front door it would be approximately 159 feet to the front door. You'd think the lazy man would be willing to walk 7 feet to ring the bell, “WRONG” He never attempts to make a contact, he simply writes out a delivery notice pertaining to the package / letter places it in the mailbox and leaves I have no dogs in my yard EVER If I were not a home, I would not open the gate. “He didn’t think you were at home,” doesn’t fly! The mailman is supposed to attempt delivery unless it is unsafe. How come I get UPS, FED EX, DHL AT LEAST 2 TIMES A MONTH WITH NO PROBLEMS???

How can we get the govt. to enact a nation "do not mail" list for junk mail? Everyone hates getting junk mail in the post. A national do not mail list for junk mail, similar to the national do not call list, would save thousands of acres of forest each year. It would also save us hundreds of millions of tax dollars every year, because the postal service would have less mail to deliver (and the perhaps they could do a better job of not losing important mail in their system). Seems like a no-brainer, why hasn't someone in Washington already done this?
How can I get someone living in a squatter camp (South Africa) to the US for a visit? 1. We’ve found that the only way to get an appointment with the US Embassy is on-line? If true; how do people with no electricity, much less a computer, apply for an appointment? 2. The individual applying for the VISA much have a bank account and the application fee for the VISA must be withdrawn automatically prior to setting an appointment? If true, how to do people with no jobs and no money get a bank account (where, the bank fees are cost prohibitive to actually having an open account in South Africa) 3. We have found that the person must have a legal, permanent address? It my understanding that squatter camps don’t get postal service, therefor they are not counted as a legal address. 4. Is this how Apartheid worked? It seems to me that the application system is skewed against the poor in South Africa. That they will never have the chance to visit the US even when sponsored completely by US citizens. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve our chances? Rev Al: That's why we're trying to get my friend to the US to enable him to speak at churches and other groups to tell them about the living conditions and how we can help his people. I stressed the fact that we were looking for a visitor's VISA because the SA government wants to make sure the people that leave will come back so it's easier to get a visitor VISA than any other.
USPS job is this legit???? there was this ad in the classifieds for this job with the postal service. there was an 1-800 number that i called and he told me how i have to pay $99 to take recieve the materials to take this test so i can get hired. then if i get an interview they will help me make sure i pass and get the job. i didn't give him the money and told him i would think about it. seemed kinda shady like those movie ads where you pay the agent ahead of time to help you. i've heard those are all scams and this seemed to be done the same way. he gave me a wesite to check out http://www.examregistration.us/ so my question is does this seem legit? have people that work for the postal service gone through this?
Why do them Clintons love dirty money? First BIll and the Buddah folks, now Hillary and this. Records show they own a gift shop and live in a 1,280-square-foot house that they recently refinanced for $270,000. William Paw, the 64-year-old head of the household, is a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service who earns about $49,000 a year, according to a union representative. Alice Paw, also 64, is a homemaker. The couple's grown children have jobs ranging from account manager at a software company to "attendance liaison" at a local public high school. I have been scammed by a company claiming legitimate data entry/work at home position.? I saw a job posting on jobkabob stating that a company was looking for someone to fill the position of a data entry person that would work from home. Stupid me I should have known, But it required a startup fee of $15.00 and I payed it through paypal then they sent me an e-mail called training materials which is what the $15.00 was for. But it was just an email about how to do the same thing to other people that just happened to me. I tried to get my money back but paypal says they cant give it back due to the terms of service stating they wont give refunds for non-tangible items So I thought about taking this to the IC3.Gov website and reporting the people, But the people that scammed me told me that its completely legal based on the US Postal and Lottery Laws, Title 18, Section 1302 and 1341, or Title 18, Section 3005 in the US code, also in the code of Federal Regulations, Volume 16, Sections 255 and 436, which state a product or service must be exchanged for money rec I cannot contact the US Postal service. This is done through email.

What rights do employees have when it comes to resolving on the job issues, official discussions & discipline? My co-workers and I feel like our supervisor is creating an atmosphere that is leading to a hostile workforce environment. We constantly complain about coming to work late and having to work overtime unexpectedly. Our supervisor feels like he doesn't have to give us notice about the overtime. When someone confronts this issue to him, he will drag the employee into the office and tell him he does't have to let him go home after working 8 hours and he'll state what the rules are, but would not show the contract unless challenged. The supervisor will speak in a manner that seems to be hostile and he doesn't allow two way communication between the supervisor and the employee. Are there any rights being violated as far as working late unexpectedly and the way the supervisor conducts himself to his employees? We work for the United States Postal Service.
More Shady Clinton dealings did the lefty media properly inform you? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB118826947048110677.html?mod=hps_us_whats_news DALY CITY, Calif. -- One of the biggest sources of political donations to Hillary Rodham Clinton is a tiny, lime-green bungalow that lies under the flight path from San Francisco International Airport. It isn't obvious how the Paw family is able to afford such political largess. Records show they own a gift shop and live in a 1,280-square-foot house that they recently refinanced for $270,000. My oh my. What if this was a republicant? Oh the media circus that would ensue!!!!!!! Six members of the Paw family, each listing the house at 41 Shelbourne Ave. as their residence, have donated a combined $45,000 to the Democratic senator from New York since 2005, for her presidential campaign, her Senate re-election last year and her political action committee. In all, the six Paws have donated a total of $200,000 to Democratic candidates since 2005, election records show. patriot: dear braindead: of course it doen't rank with tom delay because the media REPORTED DELAY NON STOP FOR MONTHS! NO MENTION OF CLINTON! GET IT HYPOCRITE MORON?!!
I am living paycheck to paycheck! Is anyone else? Everything in the US costs so much money and it is so hard to start a life and a family and find a home. I never have extra money and I feel like I am constantly drowing in bills or thinking about it all the time and I never have any relief! Gas prices are awful, homes are expensive, car prices jumped up, and then my only hope for extra money----EBAY, the postal service raised their prices and I am hardly selling anything anymore due the shipping costs. Am I just in a bad part of the country with bad economy, or is everyone living like this right now? I work a full time job, and so does my fiance---and we are both making at least 10 bucks an hour, but we still are drowning. I'm scared to even have kids after our wedding this September, I don't know how I would even buy diapers for it. We both want second jobs, but our town is soo small, everyone wants a job and they are hard to come by.
