I would like to send a music CD album to a friend in Philippine....? I know if you sent a package such as boxes, it will more likely get opened, stolen, and lost. I was told by my friend who works at USPS local office based on her own experience, her church member's experience, and her customers complaining about this many many times. I was told UPS, Fedex is the same way. So last time I used a private Philippine owned carrier company who can deliver a box from door to door. HOWEVER...... If you are sending a letter, I was often told that it would more likely OK using a regular postal service. I am wondering if it would still be safe to send a Music CD in a medium size envelop with an air bubble and just use USPS / regular air mail to Philippines ???
Can anybody give me some advice on how parents can follow-up the parcel we sent from Canada to So. Leyte Phil? My husband and I sent a parcel to my parents last Sept. 2, 2009 through a normal delivery postal system (gov't. post office). The following week, we followed-up the Canada Post Office whether our parcel went through and we received a confirmation delivery report that at Sept. 7, 2009, our parcel was delivered out from Canada to Philippine Post Office. Now, we're already worried because until now, Dec. 1, 2009, my parents still didn't get our parcel yet. I emailed them the receipt with tracking number on it and they keep on inquiring up to our Municipal's Post Office but the clerk is keep on saying that their office cannot trace our parcel wherever it is now in the Philippines. I don't know how true is it. The clerk just keep on telling to my parents that they will receive notice from their office once the parcel arrived. My only concern is that, we heard lots of romours which I hope not true, that the Phil. Post Office employees are stealing the parcels especially those which came from abroad. Nothing really valuable on our parcel, those are just our wedding pictures, dvd's, newspapers, and some postcards. I mean, would they really interested to steal these kind of things? How long is it really the normal delivery would arrived to its destination especially in rural areas in the Philippines? Please, can somebody help me or give me some piece of advice regarding my concern. Thanks in advance.
I want to apply badly for Philippine passport.Help!? I have been experiencing delay lately planning to line up at the Department of Foreign Affairs satellite provincial office here in our city in order to obtain my very first passport. The cause of my delay is I cannot produce a 3rd valid ID.I only have my Professional Regulations ID as a Licensed Teacher though i have worked only as a substitute teacher that's why I don't have other benefits. The other one is Postal ID. I could have used my Voter's ID but I failed to register last year.I thought I could use my PhilHealth but it is only a card.I don't have SSS or GSIS either.I can't drive that's why I don't have Driver's License too. My friend from US is inviting me to accompany him to travel around Asia.I badly needed to get my passport as a soon as possible but I cannot present a 3rd ID. I have all the necessary papers now required for passport application like NBI Clearance with no Criminal Records,Barangay Clearance.my Birth Certificate has recently been authenticated by National Statistics Office plus the money to pay for overtime processing of my passport. Can I still apply even without my 3rd ID? Is presenting a 3rd ID really compulsory for first time applicant as stipulated by the rules and regulations of DFA?Or only our local DFA office has imposed this kind of requirements?Help!

who can help? a charitY? you? please help? To Whom It May Concern, Good day to everyone whose reading my letter. I am Evelyn Lajom, 30 years of age, Filipino Citizen, presently living with my sister and his family in Valenzuela City, Philippines. My province is in PAMPANGA. I wrote this letter with the help of my friend named Joy, I want to ask a little help to scatter this letter and send this message to everyone. This letter is primarily asking for financial help to all kind-hearted and fortunate ones in this world. I was diagnosed with END-STAGE RENAL DISEASE SECONDARY TO CHRONIC GLOMERULONEPHRITIS six years ago immediately one year after I graduated from Manila Central University of Business Administration Major in Management. ’m one of the patients of the well-known National Kidney and Transplant Institute here in the Philippines and currently undergoing Hemodialysis to filter the waste products in my blood (My Kidneys are greatly damage and are not functioning anymore and I’ll die when my blood continues to accumulate these toxins). I kept undergoing to this procedure twice a week for 6 years in Asia Renal Care Philippines and if unfortunate, I’m only having my Hemodialysis twice a month because I need to divide our money for the dialysis and blood-transfusions. The hemodialysis ranges from P3,000 – P4,000 or U$60 – 80 plus the same fee for my needed blood transfusions which is very hard for us to accumulate. I am very thankful for all the financial support I’m getting from all the persons who never ceases to sponsor me in able to survive. My siblings already have their own families and is not earning so much money to fit for the daily expenses. Though, I’m so grateful that all of them are also hunting for a donation to help me in this struggle. They cannot handle the bulk of financial burden I’m bringing to my them anymore most especially this time. Because of this crisis, we cannot anymore produce or accumulate money for my hemodialysis and kidney transplant. “I really really really want to recover from this. I’m hoping that God never take me for granted and hears all my prayer.” For now, I’m operating a small business beside a Day Care Center in Valenzuela but is greatly not enough to save for my hospital needs. The doctors advises me to accumulate a equivalent amount of P 1,000,000 or U$ 20,000 for my Kidney Transplantation and maintenance medications post operation. Any amount, even how small it is would be a great help to prolong my life. Your single cent is my life, Please, Please... I’ll never stop to wait for your response. If ever this letter would be lucky to reach doctors, and persons who know doctors who can sponsor my operation, It will give me hope to be more positive in life and let your goodness be blessed with God the Father. I am also asking help for those who are linked with the government like the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, to all Senators and Congressman who has fund in the National Kidney & Transplant Institute. I think this is the only possible way to prusue my dreams, help my family in return and continue to spread the Inspiration, The miracle happened to me. Thank you very much and God Bless. Can I register for a voter's ID even if it isn't election yet? I need a digitized, government-issued ID to apply for a passport since DFA did not honor my postal ID and my SS ID has not been issued yet, thanks to red tape, Philippine style. Can I just go to any COMELEC office and register even if it's not election season yet?
Philippines mail: General Delivery? I have a couple of questions about mail service in the P.I.: How reliable is it? Do you know of many cases where letters from overseas (especially those containing one or two paper currency bills) get lost or are stolen? Is it possible to send a letter to a Filipino in care of "General Delivery" like here in the States? No specific address is necessary, just the name of the city and state and Zip/Postal Code. The Post Office in that city holds the letter for the person, who can claim it by showing identification. It's a popular method here for drifters and other homeless people, or for people moving to a new city and don't know what their address will be yet.
Any suggestions regarding sending important documents to Davao City Philippines? I live in Canada, my wife currently lives in Davao City. I've just sent my Sponsership papers to Immigrations Canada which in turn they forward the documents to Manila Visa office. Out of the 10 letters/documents I have mailed to my wife this year, only 7 out of the 10 times have been received by my wife and of the ones she did receive most took over 8 weeks for her to receive. I have sent other things like boxes of chocolates which 5 months later she still has not received. Being a Filipino Canadian I know of the low life postal workers who have stolen items when they know it comes from North America. With all that said my concern now is that the Manila Visa office is sure to be sending my wife (who now uses her married last name)documents/ instructions regarding her immigration. Does anyone know a safe way to make sure that my wife will indeed receive these documents. Has anyone experienced a relative or friend in the Philippines not receiving important documents. Does anyone have any suggestions, It has taken us 6 months for my wife to complete her application, nbi, nso and medical documents and the worse thing is some stinking postal worker stealing my wifes documents from Manila Visa.
