Odd Post Office Hours on Friday, Nov. 26? I went to my local Post Office on Friday, Nov. 26 to mail packages for work, and found it closed. A friend told me the PO had some shorter hours on Fri., Nov. 26, but I could not find this information online. Why is the Inspector Generals office so lax in prosecuting Postal workers compensation fraud? I have given documentation to the head Inspector in Chicago of a worker defrauding the system for over two years and the best they do is tell him to come back to work on light duty 4 hours a shift at $53,000 a year and he calls in sick at least 1 to 2 times a week if not more. What is an Automated Postal Center? I am just wondering what this is exactly? My city has two postal offices. One that is only open 8:30-5:30 and the other that is open 24 hours. Why do conservatives always complain about the DMV and postal office? They say government can't do anything right and then point to the DMV and postal office as proof. I have never had any problem with either. When I renewed my driver license a couple of years ago, the line was short. I have never had a problem with the postal office either. I worked for the Census Department while in college. I went to a state university. I applied for federal/state financial aid. I never had any problem with any of them either. You know who made my "List"? Greyhound bus for overbooking passengers. Made me wait forever to get the second bus. Sprint calling cards. They charged me over 200 bucks for 1 call because the operator connected me. They never told me every single minute of that call was super expensive just because of that!! Chase bank for charging $30 something bucks twice in the space of a couple of days because of an overdraft. Getting charged over $2,500 bucks for a 2 hour stay at the ER. Waiting forever to talk to a real person at AT&T to cancel my voice line. Etc, etc. I have dealt with alot more greed and incompetence from private corporations, then with government. LET ME ADD ANOTHER ONE! Arriving 15 minutes early to your doctor's appointment only to wait 1 to 2 hours to actually see him!!!

Why is my package taking 24+ hours to get to my cities sorting facility/post office from a city 2 hours north? I live in Richland, Washington and I recently ordered a package from China. Well the package has been moving very fast and ahead of schedule. This morning at about 7 AM it left the sorting facility in Spokane, Washington which is only 2 hours north of me. Post Office's Open Hours? In San Francisco, Post Office will be closed on every Sunday. What does it mean? Can i live a healthy life if?..........? I work 2 jobs? My mom and dad have both offered my jobs. My mom is a Registered Nurse, and she offered me a job as a custodian at the hospital she works at. My dad is the manager of the California Postal Office, and he offered me graveyard shift working with machines. Now for the custodial job, i will be moving around. For the post office job, i will pretty much just stand in one place. Now here is the hours i was thinking of working: Custodial job-From 6am till 1pm. Post Office job-From 12pm till 7am. Now, i will be getting paid very well. The custodial job pays $27.00 a hour! The Postal Office job pays $12.00 a hour, which is OK. So if you do the math, i will be making $6,240 a month. Which is very good for my age. Please don't ask me why the custodial job pays so much, i honestly do not know. I had some guy on here call me a "liar". I've been scammed on eBay- help finding Nigerian post office phone number/website? yes, yes, I was just taken on eBay by some random guy pretending to be an American soldier in Afghanistan sending a present he "bought" from me on eBay. Regardless of the details, I found out I was had within 24 hours thanks to PayPal, and I've been trying to get my package back ever since. It happend June 12, I called Paypal June 13, and International Office of US Postal Inspectors have been minimally helpful. One lady said she could request the Nigerian border office to return the package to sender, which is what I want, but with no guarantee of course b/c it's Nigeria, not the US, I'm dealing with. I don't need comments on how often it happens or something that happened to you unless of course it could really help me. Item processed at postal facility? Someone is shipping me a package VIA Canada Post Xpresspost. He sent it to the post office on Friday. Friday around 10pm the tracking number updated and said Item processed at postal facility. It is now Sunday and the tracking number has not changed. It is supposed to be delivered to me tomorrow, but according to the tracking it is still processed in a location that is 10 hours away from my house. Will I get my package tomorrow? Package arrived at unit, when will it come to me!? I bought a laptop and am very anxiously waiting for it right now. The shipper used USPS and I looked at the tracking information and it says that it arrived at the unit today at 7:25 AM at my area code. Its been about 7 hours later and hasn't reached my house yet. can a post office delay or withhold my mail for no reason? just recently my landlord decided to do some construction on my apartment so he had us stay upstairs . It's the same address just upstairs apartment. we plan on going back in a few months after everything is done but my mail carrier went back there to deliver a package and saw the door knobs were missing and the apartment in a bit of a shamble so she knocked on the apartment i was in to deliver the package but did not give me time to get to the door so by the time i got there she had pulled off but left the slip in the mailbox for me to pick up the package.I picked it up half hour later but she went to the post office and told them that we weren't there and every since we have received no mail. I contacted usps and put in a complaint about the fact that i have received no mail in the past week . I was contacted by the boss of the local post office and was told that the mail carrier didn't think we were there and didn't want anyone to steal our mail so they delayed or withheld delivering my mail. which makes no sense because if she didn't think anyone was there why did she leave the slip for the package in there and since we picked up the package obviously you know we are there. I was told by the boss that they would begin redelivering my mail and still I have received no mail and it's over a week now. they have no good reason to withhold my mail there is no safety or health issues that would keep them from delivering . I have no pets and I have lived here 5 years and received my mail just fine until now. I have contacted the usps again today as well as the united states postal service consumer advocate office but would like to know if there is any other avenues i can take to ensure that my mail is not withheld. I thought that was illegal to do for no good reason. I have checks and bills coming and don't know what i have received since i have not received mail in a week . any advice would be greatly appreciated on this matter

How many hours do you get as a City T.E. letter carrier? I just got hired as a city carrier (TE) with the postal service for a smallish city. How many hours does a TE get a week typically? I'm hoping for at least 20 (thats what I'll need just to get by) but really would prefer 30-40. They aren't going to give me 4 or something like that are they? Just wanted to know what the typical number has been as of late, I know the post office, like everyone else is going through a tough time. Any other advice for a new TE would be appreciated as well.

Should I sue the Postal Service? My husband sold a bicycle on ebay to a canadian. He then packaged it up and used paypal to print a shipping label through USPS (as per request of the buyer). He was required to enter all the package info. He then took the box to the local post office and dropped it off in hand to a postal employee. They accepted the package and nothing was said. 3 days later I received a missed delivery notice at MY house (apparently the box had made it part way to canada before it was stopped) Hubby called the PO and was told the box was too big to go through the canadian postal system. He asked for a refund since they had excepted the box and then returned it. He was told to take the reciepts to the local office, present them and he would be given a refund. I went to the PO and picked up the box. I presented all the reciepts and was told they could not give me a reciept because it was paid for online. THat is the just of it. THere have been numerous phone calls to Paypal (who says its the PO responsibility to refund because they are the vendor) and tons of PO employees (who claim it is basically an unmanned system-there is no way to contact a person) with no response. We have had several PO employees tell us we would receive a refund only to find out they wont or cant do it. This has been a month and a half ago. We are not talking about 5 or 10 dollars, this was almost $160. In the meantime, the buyer was tracking the box too and said I was committing fraud because it came back to me. Buyer also claims they had bought several bikes before that came in the Canadian Post. Buyer complained to Paypal who froze my account and I then did not have the funds to ship it another method (which I worked out). Account was unfroze 2 days later by paypal only to be frozen again because of all the confusion. THe refused to release the funds until the box was delivered to the buyer, who of course was not home the first attempt which had to wait until the following week. Not to mention the box got held up in customs on the way. I know there are a lot of details here but I am just expressing all the hastle that I endured because of the PO. If I go to court it is not going to be for just the funds for shipment. I have many hours and loss involved here. I am also not sure which court jurisdiction the PO falls under. I am very familiar with the court system but I am unsure if this is worth it. So please do not respond with unhelpful answers.

Can I put a boot on a US Postal Service truck? I own a deeded parking space in a parking lot downtown. It’s on a crowded street, where there is seldom any street parking and there are no other parking lots within about 2 blocks. My parking space is the first spot as you enter the lot. There is a sign in front of each space saying “No Parking / Private Lot / Violators will be towed” There is also a sign as you enter the lot saying the same. There is a spot for disabled people on the street, and the mail man usually parks his vehicle in this space, which annoys me. However, when the disables people’s space is taken the mail man has been parking in my space. This wasn’t that big a deal as I was usually not home, however he comes later now, and is often in my space when I get home from work. He walks about 2 full blocks with his cart before coming back to his vehicle; this takes him about one and a half to two hours. I have to either find street parking or go to a pay lot a few blocks away when he is in my spot. The first time this happened I came back and waited for him and asked him not to park in my space. He told me he doesn’t have time to look for a spot, and as a government employee, he can park wherever he wants and I have to wait. I was quite upset. I called the post office, and they said they can’t do anything, he has to park somewhere, and that if I have a problem I should just have him towed, they take no responsibility for the carrier’s actions or parking. I told the mail man I would have him towed and he laughed at me and said no one will tow a government vehicle. I then called my towing company a few times, they said they would be more than happy to tow him, they don’t care if it’s a postal truck or not. But they take about 2 hours to get there, and he is always gone before they arrive. The towing company has offered to sell me a boot. They said I can just lock it on his tire, and call them. They said the mailman will have to wait for them to show up and pay a fee to remove the boot, or if the mail man is not there or does not pay the fee, they will tow the mail truck and hold it until they mail man pays $200 + mileage + storage to get it back. Do you think this is a good idea? The mail man does know my name and where I live, which makes me think he might mess with my mail if I put a boot on his vehicle. I called the police and they stated that since the vehicle is on private property (my property) they cannot get involved, they said it is a civil matter. They would not comment on booting the postal truck when I asked. And as I stated, I have reported this to the post office, they said they can't do anything. The postal truck is actually entering a private lot, and parking on deeded private property.

For a letter sent priority from Europe to US, does USPS handle it as priority mail within the US or 1st class? I need to send a letter from Denmark than must arrive in Oregon within a week. The post office here is much cheaper, but all they tell me is that they will send it to the U.S. within 24 hours - I have no idea how long it will take the U.S. postal service to deliver it to the west coast. Can you send packages 24/7 at Automated Postal Centers? I went to the post office the other night around 11 PM to send some packages with the Automated Postal Center in the lobby. When I tried to press mail a letter/package, it said "cannot perform this action right now". Last time I used one of these a couple of years ago you could mail packages 24 hours a day. The thing that makes me think this may have just been a fluke is that it was Tuesday and Veteran's day was the next day. I thought that maybe the just shut it down on days like this because the package receptacle would get full or something. Or maybe it is an anti-terrorism thing and the post office has a new policy that all packages have to be accepted during business hours. The local Post Office and I have been butting heads lately.. recently, we've had a different postal carrier, no joke, every day. This results in our mail being delivered at all hours of the day, which would be fine, except my dog had a remote collar. This resulted in the postal worker of the day being frightened because my dog barked at her as she was approaching the house. My dog is a terrier mix of medium build, and loves everyone. Regardless of my dog's temperament, I introduced the two and reassured the worker that everything was fine. I then got a letter in the mail from the post office's customer relations manager saying I should keep my dog indoors or tied up. I responded with a letter back (since she did not leave ANY contact info) saying she could come clean my house when the dog relieved itself from being indoors all day, and that I wasn't about to tie her up and get sent to jail for animal abuse (I live in AZ, it's way to hot to tie up an animal outside all day, shade and water aside, IMO) I alternatively gave her the option of giving me a time frame of about an hour in which to keep my dog inside and I would happily comply. Also, I mentioned the incompetence of her employees, being that I CONSTANTLY have to retrieve my mail from the street over because her carriers can't read a simple address, and I also mentioned that our previous carrier before they started playing musical carriers would read a little list I had above our mailbox stating the names of all who live here, and wouldn't deliver the countless letters for previous owners of our house. Now I just write return to sender, no such person on them all and create even more work for the Post Office. Whatever they want.. Anyway, I got no response, therefore, I did nothing either. I then got a second letter, exactly the same as the first, but this time it had contact info. Neither of these letters mentioned withholding mail at all. I called and left much the same message on her machine and a phone number. No response. After that, the mail just stopped coming. I've gotten a couple letters one day out of the last 4 or 5 months. I just want to know before I go confront this broad what my rights are. Is withholding mail without notice illegal? Can I get her fired? Because really, that would be great...

I passed the postal battery exam. What happens now? Last month, I took my postal battery exam. I felt pretty confident I would pass it, and a month later I got my test results. They told me I passed with a 90.10 which is pretty good. All my obsessive studying and dedication really paid off. So now I just need to know what I'm supposed to do know. Do I wait for a phone call from the post office in my city to call me back for an interview or am I supposed to call around and try to get a job now? USPS Priority Mail question? I sent out a package on wednesday 2/9. I received word saturday morning at 1:30AM that it went straight to a facility 3 hours away from where I'm sending it to. Shouldnt it of gotten to the post office of the area I'm sending it to all ready? And if the post offices closed early (which they do in the city I'm sending it to), whats the policy of dropping off a package? Husband trying to sue me, need advice? I have been married to my husband for nearly 3 years. We got married young and we were not ready. Throughout the marriage I have tried to leave multiple times, but he always did something to make me come back, but now that I have left for good and want to divorce, he wants to sue me for alimony. Some details now: when we were first married, he made me quit my job at McDonald's to move and live with his horrible abusive mother. He didn't have a job at the time either. He got a job when I was 4 months pregnant, but lost it near my birthday the following year. We got jobs at verizon together, and I quit a month early than him, but now, he has a job at the postal office making 16.25 an hour! I had him sign a paper saying he could not sue me for any of this, but i don't believe it will hold up in court. It has already gone through the courts but he says he can still get more money from me. Today the post office threatened to not give me my passport, what do I do? Today I went to the post office to submit a form to receive my passport. In the office there were also several other individuals for the same reason. About an hour past after I left the office, and one of the workers called me on my private cellphone. She informed me that her cellphone was lost/stolen and that she will not submit any applications for processing until her cellphone turns up. I have nothing to do with her issues and want neither my private information nor my passport compromised. What do I do? From what I understand, it is illegal for them to threaten or compromise the processing of federal documents, especially over a non federal issue a postal worker may have. Help me out guys. USPS package problem? I ordered something from amazon a few days ago. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but i wasn't home, so the delivery guy left one of those slips in my mailbox that tells me to pick it up at my local postal office. So the next day, i go to pick it up. After waiting 40 minutes, they tell me that they can't find it. Then they give me a number and told me to call it on monday (since tomorrow is sunday) I looked up the number, and it's the same number as the post office that i went to pick up my package. Then i checked the track and confirm on amazon, and it said it was delivered. Then i checked it again a few hours later, and it said "available for pickup" at 12:29 pm. that was the exact time that i went to the postal office to pick it up before. USPS didn't deliver my package! What are my options? Hi folks! So today is two months since I sent a package, a B-day gift for my mom, to one of the Central Asian countries from the US using USPS "services". The package was never delivered and USPS seems to take zero responsibility for this. After the first month I started calling the 800 number trying to figure out where the package was. I found out that the package was sent with the First Class International, aka “forget about it”, mail which offers no tracking, and more importantly no scanning which means no one can even tell you if it was shipped out of the US. For hours I was hanging on the phone filing all sorts of claims, inquiries, and even complaints with USPS. No response. Only once I got a call back from some lady at some USPS warehouse who was mad at me for some reason, said that she had no idea where my package was, and hang up on me. Then I was actually visiting various USPS offices where instead of helping people were accusing me of sending my package with the cheapest mailing service and not insuring it. When the same conversation happened at my state’s USPS HQ I lost it and almost yelled out that I had no idea about the differences, I just brought the package to the postal office, said where I wanted it, paid what I was asked, and left. No one offered me other types of mailing and/or insurance at first place. Guess what happened, they said I could “go and talk to people in DC”, and you know what, I did. I flew to DC last week to just talk to USPS HQ people. A lady I spoke to carefully wrote down my story, took all the confirmation numbers I had, and at the end said she was sorry but couldn’t do anything since I mailed it with the “First Class International”. Urgh!!! The bottom line is, I paid money for services that were never performed, I lost my package, spent even more money trying to investigate, and no one at USPS is willing to help or somehow return my money. If you had same experience or know what to do, please advise! I was thinking to talk to an attorney, but I guess it costs money which I don’t really have, and am not sure if there’s a basis for litigation. What Do I Do About Picking Up a Postal Package with No Peach Notice? I was awaiting a package, a small one that i know was to be sent in a padded envelope. i ordered from the sender before and it arrived in the mailbox no problems. Will I go to state or federal prison? I live in Texas and this is a hypothetical situation. If I committed arson and was being chased by the Texas state troopers in a high speed chase. I am driving at 90 miles per hour and trying to get away from them. Unfortunately, my gas is starting to run out and I get off the highway through a feeder into a regular street. I know that my car will run out of gas soon, the gas light is bright yellow, I know that they will send me to a Texas state prison because arson is a state crime/felony, and I am being chased by Texas state troopers. One of the central themes of this book is the relinquishing of one's wealth and earthly possessions to achieve spiritual oneness. Elvis could do this, as well as address his other concerns of sanity and safety by faking his death and living in exile. Means. Elvis had the means to fake his own death. These coffins weigh in the area of 300 pounds and usually take two months to receive once ordered. This coffin seemed to have been ready. This novel tells the story of a body that is autopsied, a man resembling Elvis. The man had died of cancer. The body is later returned for private burial, to the man's own family. The man's family are paid to remain silent about the incident. Nicholson explains a government connection. In a 1989 radio interview Nicholson said that even if he knew there was an FBI connection and was told not to say anything, he COULD NOT say. Will my visa be granted, i'm worried because...? i went to the uk in 2001 on a student visa, which i re-applied for the following year, it was granted. The third extension i applied for was in 2004. I never recieved my passport from the home office. It did not worry me as i had heard that the home office sometime keep passports longer than usual. i moved in with my now husband in 2004 and we have lived together since then. we have a 2 year old daughter together and started saving to return to my home country in order to get married with my parents etc and in a religious ceremony. I then contacted my college and they have no record of the passport being delivered to them. i contacted the postal service and they dont have record that run that far back. i was advised by my countrys embassy to report it lost and return with proof of this report in order for them to issue a new travel document, which i did and we returned to my home and got married. now im applying for a spouse settlement visa and im worried that this may affect my application as a breach of UK immigration laws. I dont know if this classifies as a breach as i had no idea that the home office could send your passport to the college or institution that you attended. I have not broken the law or done anything illegal during my stay and only had a couple of part time jobs which met the regulations with regards to working hours. My co-workers and I feel like our supervisor is creating an atmosphere that is leading to a hostile workforce environment. We constantly complain about coming to work late and having to work overtime unexpectedly. Our supervisor feels like he doesn't have to give us notice about the overtime. When someone confronts this issue to him, he will drag the employee into the office and tell him he does't have to let him go home after working 8 hours and he'll state what the rules are, but would not show the contract unless challenged. The supervisor will speak in a manner that seems to be hostile and he doesn't allow two way communication between the supervisor and the employee. how long can you have a dog tied to the front yard? hey i have a problem... i have a female pitbull about 7 months old and i sometimes leave her tied up in front of my house next to some tree... she has her dog house there. I live in a corner house and she's tied on the opposite side of my door. which my mailbox is next to my door.Today i got a us postal service letter saying that my dog was interfering with the mail man leaving the mail, and that they would no longer leave our mail since the mail man feels threatened to get bit. Now, my dog is very friendly dog and the mail man always use to go over to her and pet her when he would come and all of a sudden he's complaining. Our dog doesn't even reach our steps or our driveway to our front door. I then went to speak to someone at the post office and she told me that we couldn't have her tied up for more than 4 hours and that she should be inside a fence. Also, after she asked what kind of dog i had i told her it was a 7 month old pitbull and her face expression suddenly changed and said, "Pitbulls kill people!" which i think that she's being totally prejudice against that breed. Should my mail been left on top of a car? Yesterday morning, I had some friends over, and they parked in front of the mailbox, which was blocking the way for the mail lady to drive up to it and leave the mail. When my friends were leaving, about 2-3 hours later, I found my mail on top of my friends car, It was just laying on top of the car along with a package that I had ben expecting. It was all being held together with a rubber band. I know she has the right to refuse to deliver the mail if a car is blocking the mailbox, but it would of been better for her to deliver it the next day instead of leaving it on top of a car, where it would of been easily taken by a person just walking by.. If my package would of ben stolen, I would of been mad. [it was an external hard drive that I bought online for over $100] Did the postal worker do the right thing? Have you heard of Triple Crown Publications? I have an interview with them on Monday for an Office Manager position and would like some feedback from anyone who has or is working for them. The ad has been in the paper for quite some time and I wanted to apply weeks ago but was comfortable in my old position and intimitdated by the job requirements but since I was fired Monday decided to give it a go. Did you get scammed too by this ad? USPS employment...Don't call this number!!!? I read an ad in the local News Paper in the classifies for employment for the U.S. Postal Services. The ad said I could make $20 an hour part time or full time. I called 1-800-584-1859. And they continued to tell me about the employment opportunity and that I needed to pay over $100 for the study material in order to take the Postal Battery Exam. Come to find out it's a big scam and they got my credit card numbers and already charged me. There was a report with the BBB that told me all about it. A little fact so it doesn't happen to you. Your local post office gives you this study material free of charge and tells you how to set up for your test date!!! Lucky for me I used Discover Card. They were great and are going after the company for me and refunding me my money. When I called this company called Exam Services they told me directly they have been doing this for years and no they would not return my money. I feel stupid it was the one time I didn't check first with BBB.

Coworker blows her nose ALL THE TIME!!!!? I have a lady that works in the office right next to mine that blows her nose very loudly at least 2 or 3 times every hour. It is driving me crazy! Got scammed on Craigslist? Got acouple of questions for some of you. Acouple months ago i noticed a item on craigslist. So i contacted the phone number in the listing and talked to the guy for acouple of minutes, and told him i would take the item($600). So i sent him a postal money order overnight(i live in NY and he lives in FL). So come saturday the post office tried to deliever the money order but he was not there. So come sunday morning on one of my forums that i write one i noticed that someone made a post about buying a certain item. It is the same item that i sent the money order two days before(were talking a one of the kind items, guy also lived only a hour from him). So all days Sunday i tried calling the seller about what is happening. He never picks up the phone till i call from another phone, in are brief conversation he said he will not sign for the letter and that the post office will ship it back to me. But come monday morning i looked at the tracking number and seen he picked it up. After that i tried to call him again and no answer. Later that night he called my sisters cell phone(other phone i used on sunday), and he told her to tell me that he was mailing the item out. This is after he said he is sending my money back and i also no that he already sold the item. Well as of today im left with nothing. The sad thing is i called the Daytona police and they told me to send my copys of my proof for them. Well they have never wrote or called me back. So is there anything else i can do to try to get my money back from this scammer.

What are some good ideas for jobs with benefits? In the first place, I have only "some" college, meaning I didn't graduate. I'm not planning on going back any time soon, because I can't afford it, and right now I really don't WANT to (I loathed college even more than high school). Right now I have a crummy job that I like well enough, but just isn't meeting my needs. I make less than $8/hour, have no benefits and a really crappy schedule. I have plenty of work experience, such as cashiering, assistant managing at a retail store, working for a newspaper, and office/secretarial work. I'm 24 and still live at home, and I REALLY want to change that. The only real reason I still do is because of money, and health insurance. (I can stay on my father's policy as long as they provide half my living expenses.) Because of a heart condition I've had since birth, I CANNOT go without medical - my daily meds would cost $150/month, and my twice-annual cardio check-ups would cost $400/visit - no way I can afford that! So I'm trying to find some suitable jobs that offer good pay (better than my lousy $7.50/hour) and benefits. I've enlisted nearly everyone I know to help me brainstorm, but I still need ideas. Banks?
