How long will it take US Customs to ok my registered letter from England? It has been in NY since March 12th? A registered letter was sent to me from England back in March. According to a US Postal Service search the letter is 'awaiting' US Customs to release it back to the US post Office. Got scammed on Craigslist? Got acouple of questions for some of you. Acouple months ago i noticed a item on craigslist. So i contacted the phone number in the listing and talked to the guy for acouple of minutes, and told him i would take the item($600). So i sent him a postal money order overnight(i live in NY and he lives in FL). So come saturday the post office tried to deliever the money order but he was not there. So come sunday morning on one of my forums that i write one i noticed that someone made a post about buying a certain item. It is the same item that i sent the money order two days before(were talking a one of the kind items, guy also lived only a hour from him). So all days Sunday i tried calling the seller about what is happening. He never picks up the phone till i call from another phone, in are brief conversation he said he will not sign for the letter and that the post office will ship it back to me. But come monday morning i looked at the tracking number and seen he picked it up. After that i tried to call him again and no answer. Later that night he called my sisters cell phone(other phone i used on sunday), and he told her to tell me that he was mailing the item out. This is after he said he is sending my money back and i also no that he already sold the item. Well as of today im left with nothing. The sad thing is i called the Daytona police and they told me to send my copys of my proof for them. Well they have never wrote or called me back. So is there anything else i can do to try to get my money back from this scammer.

Why are some people such 'Know-it-alls'!? Forgive my rant, but I just came back from the post office and a really stupid experience with the postal worker there. I was trying to send an envelope to NY and I had my own address labels printed out and my own envelope. I needed to borrow a pen and I asked for a blue pen and the postal worker said, 'Black works better...if you're filling out addresses'. I just looked at her thinking, 'Oh no, another know-it-all' In actuality I needed to sign the cover letter to the recipient. I had a feeling I should go to UPS instead but I felt like I didn't have time. I signed the letter and attached my own pre-printed labels to the envelope, then the worder weighed it and asked if I wanted a tracking number. I shouldn't have, but I said yes. Well that was a mistake because she pulled out a long form for me to fill out and charged me twice as much. Then she asked me something I've never been asked before, 'If it's returned do you want it abandoned or sent back to you at your expense'? I'm thinking, 'Why? Will it be returned and what am I paying for then?' Anyway, my question is twofold: a) How do you handle stupid people who think they know what you SHOULD be doing when really they don't know jack? and b) Once a package is dropped off behind the counter at the post office, can you get it back? Question regarding USPS Track & Confirm? This past Thursday, I went to the local post office to have a package sent out to England. I checked the Track & Confirm thing on the USPS website, and its last update was on the 29th and it says that the package left NY and is in transit to its destination. I'm just curious as to why I haven't gotten any new updates? My best guess is that since it is "in transit to its destination," it has obviously left the country. Therefore, I'm assuming I will no longer ber getting updated on this matter due to the fact that the next post office it will/has arrived at is not a USPS one. And, obviously, not all postal companies are connected seeing as how they're government-owned. So, how would the USPS know that the package had made its way to a completely different postal chain? That's what I'm assuming. However, this my first international package, so I know very little on the matter, which is why I'm asking and making assumptions! Anyone with experience have any idea on this? Thanks!

Are there any chances of getting the money back? In March, 2010 I filled out a money order form for $1,000.00 to send my mother. The guy behind the window just told me to give him everything when I was finished, so I did. Then when I was about to leave the post office I realized I didn't seal the top and the worker told me he would do it for me so not to worry and I trusted him since he was a worker. After a week my mom didn't get the money and we found it strange because from NY to NC it doesn't take over a week to receive a money order. A postal investigator came to my house and showed me a papaer that the worker changed the name on the money order(the receivers name) my name stayed and instead of my mom getting the money a random lady got it. He never gave me the other part of the receipt all I have is the number not the physical one and I am scared because my mom said if I ever do get the thousand dollars back to use it towards school and tuition and no it's to late to go for spring semester I can't go till I get my money back and it seems like the postal people are doing nothing about it. How can I accept medicare as payment when I sell orthopedic shoes? Hi, We own a uniform store in New York, NY. We sell things like restaurant uniforms/aprons, medical gear/scrubs, work shoes/boots, postal uniforms, etc. We also sell orthopedic shoes. We want to be able to accept medicare as payment. We aren't a doctor's office and don't have patient files so applying to be a DMEPOS supplier seems to be way more intricate than it needs to be. There are currently competitors in our area that only sell orthopedic shoes also and are able to accept medicare. Can an expert in the field point us in the right direction?
