No flight jobs listed on either FedEx or UPS. Is this the norm? Out of curiosity, I surfed over to the FedEx and UPS careers websites, and looked to see if there were any openings for pilots, not overly surprised to see that there were no openings. My question: is this because of the recent economic downturn, or is it because they don't really advertise it on their website? What is the difference between FedEx Freight and FedEx Ground? I was looking into applying for a job with FedEx. I found one for FedEx Ground but its a 40 minute commute vs one I found for FedEx Freight, which is a 20 minute commute. What is the motor carrier law with regards to regulating overtime pay with Couriers such as FeDex or DHL? Can the department of labor enforce overtime pay for Couriers for business that deliver and pick up packages. There is no CDL requirements for this type of job . It working for DHL( doing the same things that UPS and Fedex do). Or is there a law stating that the NCDOT has jurisdiction over this type of work and thus exempt from overtime if a salaried employee.

Am i Stuck @ my job @ FedEx? Help please!!!!!!!!!? Ive been @ my job @ FedEx Express in Newark, NJ for 6 years. I make 15.00/hr, which isnt bad, but Im only Part time and I only do about 30 hrs a week. I go to work @ 9:30am-12:30pm(my scheduled shift), then come back from 3:30 till 6:30-7pm(I come here to get extra hrs). While FedEx is a good job with good benefits, MOST people dont know is about 65-70 % of the employees are part time. Now you can be P/T and get 40 hrs a week, but if you want a loan(auto or mortgage), you'll more than likely be denied because of this P/T status. While 6 yrs is a long time @ one company (Im 26), there are a BUNCH of people who have been there 10+ yrs who want F/T as well as I do, so they will get a F/T postion over me. Should I just work my regular shift in the morning from 9:30am-12:30pm, then get a full time job during second shift elsewhere from 2-10, 3-11, and 4-12? Should I work both shifts @ FedEx and tough it out until i can get F/T? Or should I just find another job somewhere else? For myself and my toddler son, I only pay $27 a week for health/dental insurance. Ive gone on numerous interviews and potential employers tend to shy away from me since ive been with FedEx so long and I make so much(even though its not that much, but its enough). I do have 30 college credits as an accounting major, so Im no dummy. I dont wanna be limited to factory/warehouse/retail jobs. I could see myself there in 20 yrs(not working in the warehouse, but maybe as a courier or supervisor). The way FedEx is, if someone is PT and wanna go to FT, its considered an upgrade, but it is done by priority 1st, seniority 2nd. That meaning, If someone who is F/T with less seniority than me, but is a FT employee, they get the job over me, even though ive been there longer. Its crazy, but its true. Oh yeah, the tuition thing is great and all(and I will use it when Im ready to go back to school), but they WILL NOT make u full time if you have a degree. There are TOO MANY people who have recieved Associates/Bachelor degrees through the tuition reimbursement program and are still on the front line with me. Like I said, I have 30 college credits, but FedEx is NOT the type of job that will "place" you if you have a degree or other qualifications.. There are openings in the company we PROBABLY dont know about and we cant apply to on our company's job internal data base(unless theres a HIDDEN one....lol)

Can you change a fedex shipping address? I'm getting a package but I'm not going to be home on the day it will be delivered. I don't have a doorman, and I live in a city so they don't leave the package because people will steal it. Is there a way I could call and tell them to send it to my job or another address? What is a Hardship License? And does it allow to be used for driving for work-say delivery, FEDEX, UPS? I have a brother who ended doing grand theft auto, but now needs to work. He is great in the automotive industry. A national auto service store is looking to hire him, but said that he needed to get his lic out of suspension. I read on the DMV that a hardship lic can be asked for by a court. If he were to get the job he would need to be a delivery driver and reciever of auto parts to certain other service sites. So I wondered if a hardship lic allowed driving for employment also, in addition to driving to and from work.
fedex express handler job transfer? hi i was thinking of getting a job as a handler for fedex express and transfering to aircraft maintenance i have all the licenses and experience but its too tough to get picked up off the street as an A&P how long do you have to work before you can transfer and is it pretty easy to do this or is it hard process? ok but if i work as a handler or some other position usually how long would it take to get into aircraft maintenance cause im working as an a/c mechanic right now but i want into fedex bad im willing to move anywhere to get into a/c maintenance i just want a rough guess how long i would have to rough it as a handler ?
I was fired from fedex because? Long story very short......Everybody makes mistakes and I happen to have made a big mistake at home...I was with my now x girlfriend and she nagged me and is very lazy till one day a month ago i had it....I woke up and she didnt want to feed the baby because she wanted to go to sleep made me very angry at what a bad mother she is that i punched her...she called the cops and they arrested me....I told my job FEDEX that I got arrested and they fired me because they said it was job related ..>WTF???? Ok i was wrong in hitting my girl but what does my job have to do with it......They said that it was job related and they are afraid i might do it to someone at the company which is bull......I have never had a problem with anybody there or had any record or warning letter of me doing such a thing....so was i wrongfully fired.....can I get a lawyer?????
Why am I not being hired for jobs here in michigan? I don't know why I haven't been hired for jobs I apply to. I applied at mall jobs, Target, comcast, Att&t, Speedway gas station and other place. Some place say I'm over qualified, some place say I don't have enough experience. This is frastrating to me because I need a job. The job that I held in the past was at Dialogue marketing as Telephone Service Representative 2006, Eddie Bauer as a Cashier/ Sales Representative 2005-2006, Aegis Lending Mortgage Corp. as a Loan Officer 2004, Fedex as a Non Dot Handler/ Assistant Team Leader 2000- 2004, Diamler Chrysler as a Seasonal Temporary Parts Depot Line worker 1999, 7 Eleven as a Cashier/stock worker 1999, and at a citgo gas station changing car tires 1996. Plus I have some college course work in Accounting and Business Management. I'm 26 yrs old, intelligent, a hard worker, and a good leader. Plus I good at multi tasking and creative. So why am I not being hired? I don't know but it hurt my pride. I want to be hired now.
Who works as a Fedex courier? I do and hate it! How about you? I have been with them for 5+ years. Thankfuly I'm leaving in a month. What a nightmare of a company. We are non union, raises have gone from bi-yearly to ust once a year, and the job has become so detailed it's insane. They made a simple job (delivering/picking up pkgs) something very complicated. Anything to make the big cats rich I guess. I ca go into great details but I'd like to hear from others first.
Getting a package handler job at fedex or UPS? I'm back in school and trying to get a job at UPS or Fedex as a package handler (need the flexible hours). I applied at UPS some time ago and they immediately sent me an email to put me on a tour, but they never really called me back (and I was persistent). Now with Fedex, it says there are job openings in my area but every time I've applied for them it seems like my application just goes into a black hole.
