What is the difference between FedEx Freight and FedEx Ground? I was looking into applying for a job with FedEx. I found one for FedEx Ground but its a 40 minute commute vs one I found for FedEx Freight, which is a 20 minute commute. I applied for FedEx Freight since its closer, but I'm wondering what the difference is between the two, jobwise AND shipping wise. I'm just curious as to if I'll be lifting heavy boxes or small boxes etc. Any help would be appreciated. Preferably someone who works for FedEx. Thanks =]

Who do I go to (Government wise) when FedEx Freight issued me a quote and now is trying to charge me $800 more? I recieved a quote and was told the shipment (Business to business) needed to be split to two shipments due to size. They can only take up 20 feet of space. When the truck driver got to the location, he told the shipper that the items could all be placed in the 20 feet space. I knew nothing of the change in shipping. Now FedEx Freight said that put them over their weight per sq ft limit and they are trying to charge me $800 more than the freight quote and sending me to collections. Fedex freight deliver question? is it just 1 guy that picks up your package and deliver it to your house or the package switch with drivers each facility it reaches?? i'm asking because my delivery date changed 3 times already( the last was weather related) i think its going to get changed again because it says estimated delivery date for tommorow but its 3 hours away from my house, it would have to reach another facility/scan and all that crap so I just don't think with it being 3 hours away it will make it tommorow. Commerical furniture delivery - How do you send coffee tables by freight? I am in the process of setting up a small furniture making business and I need to know how do you go about sending coffee tables etc that are not flat- packed. I would imagine that you would bubble-wrap the items and then get a freight company like Fedex to pick them up. Is it that easy? Should I consider putting these type of items in crates. The coffee tables I have made would be sent out lndividually to customers. They are not overly expensive and really not that large. But would Fedex etc accept this type of furniture without being crated. If it is OK to send just by bubble-wrapping, what is the best way to do this to ensure the items does not get damaged? I would also be sending out the coffee tables etc to international customers.

can you go pick something up from fedex? i have a package coming in and the tracking says that its in a nearby place, at 6:30 is said its activity was "on fedex vehicle for delivery". and its details says "scheduled for delivery next business day." well, its basically right in my back yard so im hoping i can just go get it instead of waiting til the 10th when the weekend is over. and if i could what would i have to do? call and go to fedex freight? or fedex office? theyre both in different areas so id like to only take a trip once

problem with fedex customer service department? I shipped a machine controller via fedex. I valued the item at $5000 and in transit it was damaged. I filed a claim with fedex the following day. The tracking shows they picked up the package and delivered it to their shipping center Dupont, WA (about an hours drive from our house), then shipped the package to Portland, Oregon, (about 3 1/2 hours from us). What we need is effective Rail/Trucking.? It's a shame that Rail (management and labor) and Trucking (management and labor) can't get together and use these intermodal facilities. We don't need 18 wheelers crossing the country we need rail and even water to get that done efficiently. Trucks are to get the freight in and the freight out.
