What Are some careers for Fedex that involves traveling on Fedex Aircraft/planes? besides the pilots

Is a job like fedex a good career? I will be graduating high school this year and was woundering if fedex/ ups is a good career. Do you need any sort of extra education? Does it pay decent?

My father says something about they're union, and teamsters and they are broke...that there are no benefits, basically that they arent good jobs or careers to have...please help, it all started because I said I was going to get my CDL license, then he said that you can't make good money with that, then went on to say all that about the union ect...

No flight jobs listed on either FedEx or UPS. Is this the norm? Out of curiosity, I surfed over to the FedEx and UPS careers websites, and looked to see if there were any openings for pilots, not overly surprised to see that there were no openings. My question: is this because of the recent economic downturn, or is it because they don't really advertise it on their website? I've heard, ironically from an actual FedEx captain, that it's not what you know, it's who you know, which got me wondering if they ever actually advertise open jobs, or if they prefer other channels, like a recommendation from a current employee, and if I should focus on networking and things like that.

Do you have to learn how to drive a semi in order to get a CDL? My brother seriously needs to make a career change. He's been working in the food service industry for 25 years. Crap work for crap pay. Can anyone give me some tips on having self esteem in school? I'm 24 years old and I'm afraid of the future because I don't know what I want to do with my life. I don't have a college degree and I haven't really taken school seriously. I haven't enrolled in 5 years. When I did enroll, I felt overwhelmed and alone. I feel stuck. It seems like most people my age already have their degrees, careers, marriage and family in order. I don't have any. I was labled mentally slow and retarded by my classmates in high school and I haven't really recovred from it since. I have a a job working at Fedex for about 5 years, but I would like something more stable that I can earn a living and support myself. Because of my lack of self esteem, I've been really depressed and somewhat suicidal. I would like to think that there's still hope for me, but my will is diminishing. Why does Tiger Woods always snub the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, NC? The Wyndham Championship started out as the Greater Greensboro Open in 1938. Its one of the oldest tournaments on the tour where great American golfer Sam Snead won a number of championships there between the late 1930s and 1960s. Currently The Wyndham has the only Donald Ross design course on the regular tour so there is a bit of Prestige and history in Greensboro. That being said, Tiger Woods has NEVER played in Greensboro's PGA event his entire career. With him struggling for FedEx points this year and with the Wyndham being the last regular tournament on the tour, it doesn't seem like he is going to play the Wyndham in 2011 either. My salary will suck, what do you think? If I go to college as a patient care technician, it says most of them make $25-30K a year. Okay, I have a problem with that. Question about suspected mail fraud for a law enforcement officer? This evening, I had a man show up at my door to hand-deliver a FedEx package to me. Turns out, the contents were a low-ball short-sale type offer to buy my house--no big deal, this happens a lot in my neighborhood. What I'm upset about is this: Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the official-looking FedEx waybill on the package was visibly altered from an old label--Photoshopped--with a realtor as the shipper and my name as the consignee. There were several places on the waybill where the information was obviously bogus--the ship date (6-9-09) and anticipated delivery date (3-1-07) were old. I tracked the package and came up with an invalid tracking number. The delivery man was not in uniform. This guy knocked on the wrong door! I am a 14 year Operations Manager for United Parcel Service and I spent part of my career working in our Loss Prevention department. UPS would not hesitate to prosecute this....so my first inclination today was to call FedEx and report the fraudulent delivery. I told them my story and they told me to call the police. So I called our local police and they sent an officer out. The officer told me that as far as they are concerned, it is a civil matter and that a crime had not been committed. He referred me to FedEx. Now, since a realtor started all this, I have every intention to call the Realtor's Commission in my state to file a complaint against the realtor for fraudulent practices. However, I don't understand why it is not a crime. Printing up a bogus waybill and hand delivering a package with FedEx's logo on it is fraudulent in several ways---mail fraud, stealing the shipping cost (about $35 for a package like this one because of the service level on the package) from the shipping company, and probably trademark infringement. Is there anyone else I can complain to in law enforcement since the local city cops aren't interested? Can I go to the Feds? Although I am not directly a victim (because I saw through the scam), what about my neighbors? This guy had a stack of these in his car and commented to my husband that he had tons more of these to deliver tonight. The police officer called the realtor's number on the paperwork and apparantly got a hold of this guy . The police officer told him to stop delivering the packages and got the realtor's boss's name from him and gave it to me. I'll call and make my complaints tomorrow. If you can help and shed any light on my next move, I would very much appreciate it. We don't need scumbags like this out harassing desperate homeowners.

which way would i be happier? i'm a dude...about 16, and i think i'm confused out of my freakin' mind!!!! ok, so in a dream last night...i saw what i thought were 2 life choices...in other words, 2 completely different choices i could make in life. i saw 2 images...well, more like MOVIES of ways my life could go...at age 28. one is me, single, living in an old house, riding motorcycles, working on old cars, and doing what i want, continuing on with my composing, and leaving and riding my motorcycle across america as i please, for months at a time...not having to tell anyone about it...me doing what i want, when i want...not at all interested in finding a girlfriend, or settling down, completely free, listening to classic rock, and riding a custom honda goldstar down the open highway, somewhere in arizona, or new mexico, on a desert highway, stopping only to eat or sleep...leaving the house, and coming back to it months later, and mowing the lawn which grows super tall, and i have neighbors complaining about my house, and all the neighbors' kids seem to love me, they come over to my garage, and i teach them about working on cars, mainly old mustangs, 'cudas, and old challengers, until i decide to leave again, and i loved life just the way it was... the other one was me at the same age...apparently married to a girl at my school who is just my friend right now, and instead of a wedding ring, she has a ring tattooed on her finger, and it has my name on it. i have a tattooed ring, with her name on it...and i'm driving a 2011 Jeep grand cherokee with 3 kids in the back seat screaming...a girl who looks like a 6 year old version of her mother, with a jacket that her mother wore every day, and its huge and floppy...and the sleeves go over her hands...a boy, about 4 or 5, who looks just like a 4 year old version of me, with the same weird haircut i had at that age...with a hat i LOVED to wear 3 years ago...and a little baby, could not tell the gender, seems to be a few weeks old, in the middle...the girl on the mother's side of the car, the boy on mine, and the baby in the middle...we were in a huge city in this dream...a storm begins, like a huge thunderstorm, and we stop by the side of the road for some reason, and we trade drivers...the mother gets in the driver seat...we keep driving then i saw myself at about 40 something...one version of me riding motorcycles, still doing what i do, but my music takes off, and i'm writing dark, demented songs for famous bands, like Avenged Sevenfold, All That Remains, and some new band called Blank PaperCut...and i still work on old cars, but at this point, i sell them, and own a chain of body shops around the country. i seem happy enough, though the other one, shows me at about 40-something, still married to my friend...with the kids, older now, and there is a 4th one, another boy, but he's somewhat demented and commits suicide, which hurts everyone horribly. my musical career doesn't take off, and i own a small music shop, selling instruments to local bands...getting enough money to survive for the family... i would LOVE a musical career, writing songs for my favorite bands, but, now, only since this dream, i know that i really want to be more than friends with her...i swear, i only looked at us as friends, but now, i see how much we're alike...how we like the same kind of music, how we like the same kind of humor, how as kids we loved the dark when other kids feared it, and how we both pretty much have the same kind of style...in winter, we both wear hoodies, with earbuds hanging around the neck...and only now, i think how awesome and beautiful she really is, but i also know how much i want my freedom to leave when i want, and to go off walking the streets in the dark at night, on my own will, my freedom to have multiple old cars torn apart in my yard, my freedom to leave the toilet seat up, and go buy as big a TV as i want, to mess with the FedEx dude when he brings me a package...to have some time by myself, to do whatever i watn to do...but, i'm confused out of my freaking mind, and not have to deal with the suicide of a child... i know life probably won't turn out the way it does in these dreams if i choose either, but i think God is giving me an insight into whether i should try to have a family or not...and if so who to have it with...it would be freaky if things went completely as they did in the dreams if i did either plan...

What is the life of a pilot? My husband is getting out of the Navy soon and is eager to pursue a career as a pilot. He'd go to school to get his degree in Commercial Aviation, and then hopefully become a commercial airline pilot or a pilot for usps, fedex, etc. We are a young couple in our early 20s with an almost 1 year old baby boy, and we're currently trying for our second baby. (A dream to have 2 kids close in age) My question is, what is the typical life of a pilot. I know it's mostly based on seniority, but does anyone have any real life experiences on what it's like to start out, what it's like when you get a bit more established, what other work you do besides the flying, what the schedule is like, on-call, time away from home, etc? It's a dream of his, but my concern is that he'll miss out on so much of our children's childhood. He wants to be there for the sports, concerts, school conferences, but I don't know if this career path is a good one to be around for those things. Does anyone have any other suggestions for jobs as pilots that aren't such crazy schedules? Thank you!

How do I know if college is right for me? I'm 26 years old and I still don't know what I want to do with my life. I still don't know what I'm good at. I tried going to community college off and on with no consistency for the past five years. I just went wandering aimlessly in there. I felt alone and lost in the crowd because the classes were so big. I have just a part time job working at FedEx. I have no way of supporting myself. I've thought about committing suicide often because at my age I should have a degree, have a career, my own apt and a girlfriend. Life is about having a career and making a living. I've joined the US Air Force and got a score of 72 on my ASVAB, I also got Air transportation Apprentice. what exactly do they do? and what kind of jobs will be available to me after i get out of the service? I've asked my recruiter and he said that i can work at any airline, or FedEx. i personally joined the Air Force for personal reasons like getting to travel, and getting some experience to get a GREAT job when i get out. I might be asking too much but I joined because i wanted what will be good for me when i get out, like landing a 6 figure job or something that would make a lot of money. Am I in the wrong career field? or what other paths can I take to help me get to where I want to be, I really want a good paying job, and doing something that i would enjoy since I'm going to spend most of my lifes working anyways, I might as well enjoy what i do. I have been dating our fedex delivery driver for about 3 months. big blow up happened. had an argument with the bf of 3 months tonight and it ended up.....him thinking I dumped him. I told him I didnt. He said he isnt happy with me nor HIS son. He says he is selfish and is so wrapped in his career that it is killing him and everyone around him. And when he does get free time he only wants to spend it with his friends. and that he isnt the one. I want to be a successful business person. I'm 23yo with no guidence? Ever since 16 I've worked these jobs at places like mcdonald's, best buy, sears, lowes, home depot, a bank, costco auto program and was dismissed from them all becuase I didn't play the politic game well. I didn't become friends with the managers so i was fired for excuses like selling something to the wrong person (1st time offense). I work at fedex, ymca, and foreword air, but my life is still hell. I want to dj, do something musically, draw, still work hard do something instea of killing myself. I go to community college and I've been there for 5 or 6 yrs. failing class after class for general education to transfer to a major university. I figured out that business is what I want to major in. I love electronics so that is something I want to push. But I have skills in so many other areas of life. I grew up hard within broken homes and gang infested neighborhoods, I live in San Diego and I'm just looking for a push of help. Nothing reliegious, just a career to benifit from.

Can I be a fleet manager for any type of transportation company with a degree in Transportation Management? My plan when exiting college is to become a fleet manager or a dispatch manager if that makes sense. I would like to work possibly for a public transportation company or a UPS or Fedex type company. My question is, would a degree in transportation management qualify me for this type of job or do I need a strictly transportation degree? I feel that a degree in transportation management instead of a strictly transportation degree would be appropriate considering my career choice and also that some transportation companys only require a diploma and some experience to qualify, would this be an accurate assumption, please leave your comments, I have tried so hard to get an answer for this question.

The street is just off Eastern Ave and the moment I turned onto the street I was shocked. The entire street is lined with these types of homes. None of them looked anywhere near each other in design and the majority of them were beautiful while the rest were nice. should I become a pilot? I am 24 years and have completed an MBA course. I have returned to California where my parents raised me and am currently looking for a job but am not getting any responses from companies. I always wanted to be a pilot since I was young but my parents made me complete a bachelors degree in business and even a graduate course in business. Now that I am done with my academics, I am thinking of taking flight training and obtaining my PPC,Instrument, Commercial, CFI, and CFII and then working for a while until I can get 1500 hours so I can test for the ATP certification. My ultimate goal in being a pilot is to be working as a captain in the majors' just like most other commercial pilots, other than hitting the jackpot of flying for UPS or Fedex. I know their are risks of being furloughed more than once after reading blogs. But have you read about Boeing's forecast of how many more pilots will be in demand and aircrafts will be manufactured and sold. Do you think its possible to make $100,000+ by the age of 30( 6-7 years)? If not, how much do you think I would be earning by that age? Considering that I have gained a good amount of hours during the years. I know that most majors want jet/turbo prop hours, which is the easiest way for a new pilot to gain hours with jet/turbo prop? and PIC? Do you think I should focus on making flying my career? I really would like to do this, but because of the volatility in the airline industry and furloughs and lack of pay, it makes people think more than twice. Please give me your wise opinions. How do I get a job w/o a college degree? I went to college, stayed for 4 years, didn't get a degree.
