Asda Stevenage delivery van reversed into my car, can you help? Can anyone help? Two weeks ago tomorrow an Asda delivery van from their Stevenage store came into the bottom of the close that I live in and made a meal of turning around, hitting the side of my parked car and driving off without stopping. Luckily my girlfriend and a neighbour saw it happen, as the reversing alarm on the van was going on for a number of minutes and many neighbours were worried he was going to hit something. I saw the van up against my car and driving away. I didn't get the registration number and received the following response from Asda when I got in touch with them: <start> Dear Mr -----------, Thank you for your email. I’m so sorry that one of our Drivers hit your parked car. I understand how distraught this must’ve been as the Driver did not stop after damaging your vehicle. In order to trace the Driver, we’ll need the vehicle registration number to identify from which store the Driver came from. I’ve called the Stevenage store and they would need the registration number in order to investigate the matter. Once again, I’m sorry for the experience you’ve had and thank you for letting us know. Regards, ASDA Home Shopping <ends> This disappointed and infuriated me, as it suggests that they intend to do nothing about the matter. I would have expected the driver to stop, having hit my car with a force that he/she should have felt. I emailed a number of Asda contacts back, both in customer services and high up the head office chain, but received nothing else from them. Dead end. I've had better results from the store itself, but the going is ridiculously slow. They have admitted that their records show a driver was delivering at the time and have admitted the accident occurred. I now have the driver's details and the van registration number. However, they don't have externally facing emails, so it's all done on the phone and by fax. Each time I ring up, I'm told the person I need to speak to is either in a meeting or not in the store on that day. When I say that I want to speak to the store manager about it, the person is suddenly available and on the phone. Very annoying that I have to cause a fuss every time to get someone on the phone. So far I have had to involve four different store personnel in the process. I expect more from an organisation of the likes of Asda, which needs to retain a good public profile in the face of its eroding market share. I've notified the police about the driver leaving the scene of the accident and they will be investigating, but I wonder if anyone here knows if I can escalate this within Asda in any way. I seem to be getting somewhere, as they've admitted liability, but they still haven't alerted their claims management company to the accident, so I'm stuck with a huge dent in the side of my car and no resolution in sight.
Looking to buy a vehicle similar to a UPS delivery vehicle? Basically I'm looking for the name of a vehicle and model type that is similar to say a UPS delivery van for me to buy. I just want to know if there's a specific model that I should look for. I see these types of vehicles every where. Small businesses own them and everything. I'm sure they'll available to someone like me. Maybe on craigslist or something. But it doesn't help that I don't know the type of vehicle its called or whatever. I can't type in UPS vehicle in craigslist and get a truck similar to that.
Booked delivery with DHL but a private car turns up? I've had a couple of incidences where the company I've bought from have booked for DHL to deliver my parcel - I was very surprised to see a private car pull up with my parcel instead of the expected large yellow delivery van. A letter was also delivered to us like this too and we were quite wary at first as to why it wasn't the postman who delivered it. Could anyone explain? Many thanks.

I'm starting a mail delivery company, pros and cons of leasing a commercial delivery van? I am a contractor who is about to purchase a route to deliver packages for a company. Should I lease my vehicle? Pros: Newer vehicle, lower payments, lower maintenance, if I sell my business I'm not stuck with a vehicle.... I know I will always have a payment, but with a lease I know that there is a certain amount of miles available a year, but does that apply to delivery companies?? Also, if any maintenance is needed on the vehicle will it be taking care of without any extra cost and will the company provide alternate transportation until my vehicle is ready again?? Thanks for any responses in advance!!

How would you start a wheelchair accessible van/delivery service? I live in an area that is rurally spread out..The 2 major towns are 14 miles apart with a lot of little places in between and all around. The 2 towns have one taxi service each and they're both privately owned by 1 person. There is a van service but because my area is so big they're on a limited schedule with limited funding they stop at 6pm and don't run at all on weekends. They offer limited door to door service and even if you give advance notice chances are they won't be available unless you give at least 2 weeks notice..The elderly the indigent and the disabled have no way to make medical appointments go to jobs or get groceries..How would one go about starting at the very least, a service where passingers can be picked up door to door where groceries, perscriptions can be picked up from the stores and delivered to the customers who can't get out? A business plan, funding, the works.

My friend drives a van for a national delivery company. Its a death trap. What authority can he go to about it His employer dont do anything! Last month he complained about the brakes and they took it off the road for a day and they told him it had new brake discs and pads. Last week he spun the van 360 and dented it. Was lucky he didnt crash. But recently hes noticed smoke and 2day something wasnt rite so he called his depot who called out aa and they said to him theres no way the brakes have been done and he was surprised he could stop as the pads had worn down, it was just metal, he had no brakes on his right side. And 5 vans at the depot have flat batteries and have to be jump started every morning. Head office wont authorise new batteries. There also was something hanging off underneith his van the aa said, that if it had come off on the motorway would have killed someone. Something needs to be done about this company. Im worried about my friend and how dare the company be putting these vans on the road. Who can he contact to get this company looked at? But what do you do when its your responsibility to be driving a legal road worthy car but not you responsibility to get it fixed or to pay for it in any way, but when you go to your employer they dont do anything?! I told him to say you wont go out then and he said they just wont pay him!!
Is TescoDirect delivery service reliable? I want to buy some furniture (dining table, bookcase) from Tesco. Has anyone tried their service? When buying online, what I fear most is the unpredictability of delivery. Sometimes you wait all day but no van shows up - and afterwards they charge you for "your fault". Is Tesco more reliable?
