How much does it cost to mail a letter in the US now?
This past week I just mailed a bunch of letters and put .39 cent stamps on them. Today my coworker told me it is .41 cents to mail a letter. I don't remember hearing anywhere it has changed. Does anyone know? Sorry, I posted it in this category. I don't know what "postage rates" falls under.

- Still 39 cents as far as I know. As of May 14 it goes to 41 cents.
- .39
- as of May 14 it will be 41 cents - good thing you mailed them today!
- it costs only 39 cents actually!!!!!
- It is currently 0.39. The rate is going up. I think that it will be 0.41.
- its about to go up to 41 cents for 1st class letters. The cost of oil is justifying the increase. I wish we would go to war for oil.
- Regular mail should still be .39 cents but this could change depending on the weight and the size of the cover. I suggest you verify this with your local post office
- Your co worker was RIGHT! It is indeed $0.41 now. If you mail a letter without the extra $0.02 stamp or with two $0.39 stamps it will gladly come back to you!!!
- .39 cents. If you need to buy more stamps, you might as well buy the "forever stamp". It is a stamp that will be honored regardless of the postage increase(s).
- Currently, it's 39 cents for a first-class letter. The price will increase to 41 cents, as of May 14, 2007. See: http://www.usps.com/prices/ That bunch of letters you mailed had the right postage, so don't worry.
- 39 cents today 41 cents monday
