Postal deliveries affected by flooding?

hmmm, a bit worried. I hope this doesnt seem frantically superficial considering what so many people are going through.. I am waiting for a delivery postally of some stuff for an event I am in on Wednesday (should have been here Saturday, sent from London), and I am trying to find out news on how postal deliveries are running/ not running with all the floods - I undertand London is fairly OK as things stand, and we are OK here in Devon, but its the inbetween.. I wondered if anyone on here has any news on how the posties are affected. ....! Theres no news on the Royal Mail website, or on Ebay news.... Not sure where else to check.... Hope youre all OK in the rains, guys! And thanks for any info. :)

1. I dont know but there is going to be another strike on weds so hope you get your stuff tomorrow
2. i know you`ve probably thought of this or done this but try contacting the sender to see if/when they sent the item, then try ringing the post office using that info. if the sender has a postal refence item get that off them too. when i sell stuff on ebay i always send it recorded delivery - then it can be tracked on line using the reference number. hope this helps & you get your delivery soon. ps fed up with the rain but at least i`m not getting affected by any of the flooding.
3. As far as i know the mail is reaching the exeter apc mail centre for devon as usual you can ring customer care 08457 740 740 or email them , but we certainly had normalish amount of mail today in TQ delivery , ( btw SW posties out on strike Saturday)
4. In the grand scheme of things post will be about the same - half of it going missing and the bits that get delivered being junk mail, bills, and damaged/opened post or being for someone else - maybe less of it will be an improvement
5. I probably won't notice anyway. So much of the post goes missing anyway who would know?
6. your worried about your post when people have lost there homes!!!!!
7. Where I live I get two deliveries a week so why should you complain whether you might not get it on the day you want it.
8. The Bills will be getting through on time, all else will wait.....sorry.
