What is life like for the postal workers of the UK?

What kinds of qualifications are needed for this job, what income would one earn as a postal worker, are people promoted in the business? What are the working hours? Do you know any additional details about postal workers? This is urgent so please don't just point me to another search engine.

2. What kinds of qualifications are needed for this job: You must be able to read and write. What income would one earn as a postal worker: Not sure now but for a long time basic was £12k + overtime. Are people promoted in the business?: They can be but its rare. What are the working hours?: Early start/early finish about 4/5am to 12/1pm. Do you know any additional details about postal workers?: Yeah they work tons of overtime to make up for a not very basic and have to carry heavy stuff most of the day in rubbish weather.
3. don't think you need any qualifications but did you know that postal workers (postmen) only work part time - it used to be 5am to around 2pm but now its 7am - 11am.
