Postal workers, how long does it take to make Regular when you enter the Postal Service?

I have been there 5 yrs, theyre only counting 1 because i resigned and came back, how long will it take? is there a time limit? Serious answers from Postal Workers only pls PS. I am NOT a casual employee, I am a Part Time Flexible Career Employee with full benefits. :) I have never been a casual. I tested high score, they called me and I am a career employee

  1. The postal service can keep you as a casual for as long as you let them. You have to apply for the full time positions to become permanent.
  2. It really depends on two factors; how fast they make routes or conversely how fast people retire. There is no rule about them having to make you regular after a given period of time. It took me 6 years because 1) I transferred and 2) It was a slow hiring/building period. Hang in there. You will make it eventually. :-)
  3. There is no given time, just whenever somebody else retires. My husband has been a PTF Carrier for a little over 6 months now, and there are like 4 PTFs ahead of him, so I guess it's like a line thing.
