Postal Letter

How much do we tip Postal Workers and UPS Guy?

We run a home based eBay business and have someone from the Post Office pick up our packages 3 times per week. We also have a PO Box at the actual post office that we go to, and we have a UPS Driver that comes here about 2 times per week and drops off about 2-5 boxes each time. How much do we tip each of the people? The Postal workers who pick up the packages, the 2 guys that work at the post office where we have our PO Box and the UPS Driver?

  1. I would tip $100 to the mail person that picks up, $25 to each person at the PO for the box, and $100 to the UPS guy.
  2. You don't tip them anything....ever. They are union employees and have an aggreed-to wage determined by a contract. There is no reason at all to exceed this compensation.
  3. As I understand it, supposedly,.... they are not allowed to accept tips that are in envelopes??? Course now how many actually follow that is prolly not many....me, since I have one fav postman, he's the main one, he gets homemade cookies and candy... my husband, whose father was a carrier, would get bottles of booze from people on his route, as well as actual cash.... My guess, and that is all it is is a guess, would be the guys you deal with the most/ or are the nicest, 5-10 dollars? the guys at the post office, well there is a prob, as you really don't know who is doing all the handling....so pretty much a card, and some goodies would be the best. Hope this helps. Happy Holidays and Good luck!
  4. $150 each + offer them a blumpkin. it's only fair
  5. Zip on the Tip. They get paid to p/u packages. That's their job.
