Why Do Postal Workers Go On Killing Sprees?

Now of course I don't mean all postal workers. But there have been 18 postal worker rampages in the last 20 years worldwide. In these cases I am not talking about just one or two murders, they all involve 5 or more deaths caused by the person. I know this is a sensitive question due to the horrible incident in California the other night, but your thoughts and opinions may help others understand. (A current postal workers opinon would be very helpful here.)

  1. It is a sucky, sucky job. They have to run away from dogs and deliever mail in snow.
  2. What I want to know is why don't Burger King or McDonalds workers go on a killing spree? I mean at least with postal work you get good pay and benifits.
  3. My mother worked for the postal service for a few years, and let her tell it, working conditions there were unsatisfactory to the point where yes, you might feel the urge to take a few people out. Poor conditions include things like uncomfortable work areas, indignant supervisors, etc. Maybe postal workers are the only ones with enough balls to constantly do something about it when they're fed up.
  4. I know a few mail carriers, and they like the job. Outside, good excersize...they don't have anyone looking over their shoulders... But then again the mail keeps on coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming....
  5. It has something to do with their jobs being unsatisfactory. But, more than that, government jobs provide great benefits. When people are let go from government jobs, often they feel as though they've lost everything because they will not likely again find another job with pay and benefits quite like the postal system. The worst part is, they often feel like no one cares. Usually, they get that pink slip from some boss that they've never even met and that makes it even less personalized. So, feeling as though they have nothing left and no one cares, they vent their rage on their fellow coworkers as a way of getting back at the man, so to speak.
  6. I guess it is a stressfull job, you get payed good money to drive around in a truck, if there is a car in the way you dont even have to deliver the mail.
  7. Someone who used to work at a post office told me it's a very regimented job where the supervisors work you like slaves, and if you get tired, they work you even harder, plus it's very monotonous. A lot of them don't seem too happy with their jobs. The US government should do something about it.
