Finger covers for using hands a lot (Postal workers)?

My Mom is a postal worker and she has to sift through a lot of mail and it makes her fingers get worn out and crack. She can't wear gloves because they get sweaty, and often leave her without enough dexterity. I saw on some movie once a lady wearing these little fingertip covers, but I don't know what they're called or where you would find any. Does anyone know where I can find some or have any other suggestions? She uses lotion but it doesn't help.
