how long does it take to get hired at the postal office?

i have taken the test and passed it but have not been hired.....

1. it takes time im sure they have to do an extensive background check but as long as u are clean you should be ok
2. AFTER THE TEST THEY GIVE YOU AND DEPENDING HOW YOU SCORED. THEY RANK YOU AND OTHERS IN YOUR PERCENTAGE. FROM THERE ITS UP TO THEM TO SEE WHO WOULD QUALIFY MORE.
3. It depends on where you live and the post offices needs. In New York you could wait for up to 4 years. In North Carolina 6 months.....This is what happened to some people I know. Also, if you did not score 90%-95% or better they may not call you...It's very competative.
4. It depends on the area as to how long before you get hired. One way to improve your chances to to keeping taking the test every time it is offered & keep improving your score. The higher your score is the closer to the top of the list you get. Good Luck!
