She said it is $99 to get the packet in the mail , which is refundable.. and theres a test that you must do good on. Is it good to work for the US Postal Office??? They make goooood money. i live in san diego county, oceanside california and im not a veteran. so, should i still try to take the test?

- I have a friend who works there and she swears by it and loves very day.
- Yeah, that's a scam. The post office does not charge you to work there. You need to take a test and you'll probably still not get in.
- I have NEVER heard of paying for some packet. Go to www.usps.com and do a bit of research. The PO Hires by exam; with veterans getting extra credit. I've been a carrier for 28 yrs...I still enjoy it but 28 winters are getting to me
- USPS has a good benefits package. Don't pay $99 for a packet. Go to any book store and buy a study guide for the USPS exam, and see if you have a shot at passing the test. The test has nothing to do with intelligence, at all. It tests to see if you can quickly memorize blocks of addresses. You have to be able to get a really high score on the test, in order to stand a chance at being hired, unless you're a disabled veteran. Veterans get points added to their score to give them hiring preference over non-veterans, and disabled veterans get even more points added to their score. American Indians also have points added. Geographic area has a great deal to do with the applicant pool. If you live in a big metro area, and are not a veteran, you shouldn't count on it.
- Good grief. You did not call the Post Office. You called the SCAM Office!
