Postal Letter

Postal office forward my mail to another family!!?

We just purchased and moved into this new house. But not a single piece of our mail has been sent to the house. After waiting for a couple of weeks, we finally figured out that the previous owner of the house had put a Transfer mail on this address, and the worst thing is he's got the same last name as we do. I went to the postal office and a guy there said there is nothing they can do. The previous owner had put a transfer for the whole family. And the postal office has some sort of automatic machine that sorts the mail according to the last name. The guy said a Transfer will last for over a year!!! How are we ever gonna get our mail back?!

  1. Write a letter to the previous owner. Send one letter addressed to their name and one addressed to yourself, and let them know of the problem. Maybe you can work something out. If not, you might just want to apply for a P.O. Box and have all your mail sent there.
  2. TRY E-MAIL
  3. Get yourself a post office box, and let everyone know that address. You might have less problems with your mail than to try to get someone at the Postal Office resolve the problem, even if it will take a year. You just might try writing a letter to the postmaster generals office about what has taken place, A large amount of people working in the post offices now days, can't get out of their own way, much less know what is taking place on the mail routes. The days of the postal person being dependable are gone, or there aren't that many left, so we have to find other ways to help make their jobs more agreeable to them. Good Luck, next time you might have to talk to a machine.
  4. well like they said there is nothing you can do. you can go to the police and track the guy and ask him to give you guys the mail. im sure the post office can do the same. just remember that if he opens any peace of your mail you can sew him for identity theft
