Philippine TAx--need help ASAP! please?

Do i have to pay for any tax at the Philippine postal office in makati? IF so, how is it being computed? my brother is sending me a used ipod via US postal service.

  1. Hi prettyme! I really don't have the first hand knowledge on this. But I asked my brother in law who is working in a logistics company. According to him, you have to wait for the notification from the post office that you have a package then you just need to present a valid ID. The taxes if there is any, are usually paid by the sender. Rare are the cases wherein you will be the one to pay the fees (in short, collect), and it depends on the agreement between the shipper and the consignee. But since it is a gift for you, then most probably (and it should be), all the fees and taxes where already paid at the senders end. Wow ipod :)
