What is the starting pay for a USPS mail carrier?
I've just from the military and I'd like to begin working for the USPS while I attend graduate school at night. I need a job that covers that will enable me to enjoy a normal standard of living while attending classes.

- Pay is good, something like $19 an hour to start. But you have to take a test to get on a list, and it can take quite awhile to get to the top of the list and get hired. Your military service will give you some extra points on the test though.
- A PTF (part time flexible) earns $19.00 per hour A regular earns $37,995 at step A and $49,218 at top step. This does not take into account the fact that the new contract with COLA and level increase has just gone into effect.
