Postal Letter

What is the starting pay for a USPS mail carrier?

I've just from the military and I'd like to begin working for the USPS while I attend graduate school at night. I need a job that covers that will enable me to enjoy a normal standard of living while attending classes.

  1. Pay is good, something like $19 an hour to start. But you have to take a test to get on a list, and it can take quite awhile to get to the top of the list and get hired. Your military service will give you some extra points on the test though.
  2. A PTF (part time flexible) earns $19.00 per hour A regular earns $37,995 at step A and $49,218 at top step. This does not take into account the fact that the new contract with COLA and level increase has just gone into effect.
