Calling all Americans! Questions regarding your postal service?
I've recently sent some letters (using air-mail) to Greensboro, North Carolina. From here in the U.K it takes around 5 days to reach the other end (USA) so the post office told me. What time of the day do residents in Greensboro receive their personal mail at their home addresses? Morning, afternoon?

- wouldn't common sense tell you it depends on where the carrier starts his route?
- If North Carolina's mail service is anything like ours (Indiana), the mail will arrive anytime during the day. Our delivery is no longer something you can depend on. Mail shows up when the carrier has time to get to you. Our carriers often handle two routes. That's because one of the other carriers can't be bothered to come in to work. Which means those who do come in have to do double loads.
- I live in South Carolina and our delivery times vary greatly. At work, the mail runs anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. When I get home about 5:15 p.m. it's about a 50/50 shot that the mail is there. And on Saturdays, it's pretty much a free-for-all. What we're trying to say is that there is no set time unless it's a P.O. box and they're almost always filled first thing in the morning.
