Question with money orders?

Well I live in the usa and Im buying somthing from someone. We tried paypal but my paypal wont let me send in CAD. He lives in canda and I was wondering if i could buy a western union money order and send it to him? Will it work or should i send cash? Please help. It is also my first time buying a money order so do I go to postal office and ask for one and fill it out? Do they send it for me?

  1. Always be careful when doing any business out of the country. There are just so many scammers. Oh and yes, lots of the scammers ASK for the Western Union transfer. BUT to answer your questions .... I would definitely do the money order, before sending cash. At least with the money order there is some type of receipt / validation in case it gets lost, etc.... Postal money orders are perfect. You do have to pay with cash to get it, and then you send it to the person in Canada. I would even see if there is a way to have confirmation so that you know the person gets it, and cannot claim that it did not arrive.
  2. You could also have it wired to them, but they would need to provide you with all their account information. I say your best bet is to purchase a Canadian money order, either from your bank or from the post office/western union.
