What does it mean when a delivery company says I will receive 100% of fuel surcharge?
What is a fuel surcharge anyway? I have a delivery cargo van and I'm going to start delivering soon. On websites I see fuel surcharge??

- A fuel surcharge is an additional fee applied to regular rates that is supposed to cover the higher fuel costs. When they say they will give you 100% of the surcharge, that means all the extra money they charge the customer for that surcharge, they will give to you. They will not take a cut off of that charge.
- A fuel surcharge is an added chagre to the customer that is based on the average fuel cost. When the company says you get 100% means that they do not take a cut of it, However watch the "line haul" or overall charge and make sure that they are not reducing it accordingly. The bottom line is "What is the Truck Pay" total and what are your expenses. You need to know these things if you are going to get into the buisness.
