USPS job question about the temporary postition available?

When I goto USPS.com and search careers and than goto my state of Pa and my city which is Pittsburgh it says only a temporary causal position available. It says this for every city. I thought with this type of temporary position you did not need to take the 473 exam? I want to try and take the exam but is this how i do it? I am confused since I thought it had to be a full time job you are applying for. If not, does this job lead to full time? thanks

  1. The best way to find out the answers to your questions is to call and ask them! Temp jobs often lead to full time. It's a great way to get your foot in the door. Call your local USPS Human Resources department and ask them about taking the exam and ask if it is required for the temporary, casual (?) position. It's just a good way to get your foot in the door and if you have a chance to move up, I'm sure they would allow you to take the exam at that time.
