questions about usps jobs?

if i get hired as a temp do i get any insurance for my family and if i get hired and plan to move to another state will they transfer me

  1. You can not do an actual "transfer", but you would have a little leverage in being hired at another facility if you have some experience in working at a Post Office or Processing Plant. Casual Employees, if that is what you mean by "temp", are not eligible for any of benefits of a Postal job. The pay is also lower If you mean a Transitional Employee as a "temp", then you do get some limited benefits such as vacation time and participation in the Federal Employees Health Benefit program. You also make the regular starting wage for a postal worker. However, there are no transfer rights at all. But again, you may have a better shot at being employed because of the experience. Transitional Employees are usually hired for periods of 1-5 years, and must take a 5 day break without pay each year. Casual employees are hired for a period of 360 days, and can be rehired after the break.
