Do You Know Anyone In The Delivery/Courier Service Business?

I live in Houston, TX and I plan on purchasing a delivery cargo van or box truck. My goal is to deliver medium sized goods to commercial businesses and work as an independent contractor. My quesion is whether or not you or someone you may know does this for a living. If so, do you make good money and is it profitable? Additionally, I am aware of the fuel costs, insurance costs, etc associated with this business. Thanks.

1. Im in the same situation I also live in Houston Tx and also starting my own hot shot service. It is very profitable if you get the right jobs that will keep you busy and you keep them happy. I know from other people in the business that make very good money also. Hope everything works out great and dont give up!
