When does the mailman deliver directly packages to the door?

Hi, I was wondering. When does the mailman deliver directly to the door? Does there have to be direct specifications? I want to buy a 1-27 manga volume set and the seller said he/she will ship through U.S Postal MEDIA MAIL? For U.S postal media mail, does the mailman deliver to the door

1. Hi, Media mail is the cheapest and slowest form of delivery for the postal service. My Mailman will bring any package that is too big for the mailbox right to my door.Check with your post office for details.
2. If you request a signature for confirmation of delivery, he woulf have to hand the package to you. Otherwise, the mail man may just drop off the package and go about his way.
3. no media mail is just a form of postal service reserved for books and videos and such and is cheaper and also takes a bit longer; it has nothing to do with if the mailman will deliver it to your door and that is something that is just up to the mail person that you have; sometimes ours comes to the door if a box is too big for the mailbox, but they don't have to, and are just as much within their jobs just to give you a slip in your box saying there is a package for you at the post office. otherwise, if it fits, it will be in your mailbox, i expect.
