How come all dogs go after the mailman?

how come they go after the mailman. like why not any other peson??? is it a certin smell or the clothes they wear?? i've always wondered that. i wasn't asking if your dog goes after the mailman or not!!!!!!!!

5. Mine are well trained so they do not go after the mailman. It's all about training and socialization. You can't say all dogs go after the mailman (or women).

12. I would think it is because the mail person has so many different smells on their shoes and clothes. But also, they walk from door to door and maybe the dog knows the mail person does not live around the neighborhood. They don't seem to appreciate the meter reader ether. Mine started bringing dog biscuits and that seemed to help. Hope a thief does not do that!

14. I think the dogs that go after the mail carrier think they are a threat. They are coming to the house and touching the mailbox which does not belong to them The dogs are being protective of their property. Now my dogs go after everyone. They think everybody in the world is obligated to pet them.

Well not all dogs go after the Mail Carrier It all depends on how they have been trained if they are trained to protect their property then yes they will go after anyone..But most dogs will go up to a Mail Carrier and then look for a pet or a treat. So you cant say all dogs it all depends on who the owner is and how they were trained...
