Will a misdemeanor dwi affect my chances getting a job with the USPS?
i took the test, im not looking to be a city/rural carrier. im looking for clerk and proccesing plant work. i have outstanding customer service experience, and i attend college. would that knock me out consideration for a job?

- Did they ask you about a criminal record? if so then it would make them think twice, but i doubt keep you from the job as long as you don't want to be a carrier.
- I know that (on the books, anyway) you can have a misdemeanor and still work for the FBI, so you stand a fighting chance. If it was at least 7 years ago you've got an even better chance. If I had to guess it would only matter if you came really close to the cut-off line and there was another person who was just as close with no record. I'd also guess that the type of job you're applying for will work to your advantage as well. Good Luck!
- maybe not if they don't catch it and if it comes up you know that it is a DUI
- A misdemeanor and a Felony are two different factors !! A misdemeanor is a very minor offense unless it is first class !! All felony and misdemeanor convictions and all convictions in state and federal courts are criminal convictions and must be disclosed. Disclosure of such convictions is required even if you did not spend any time in jail and/or were not required to pay a fine. You can also obtain a Certificate of Relief from Disabilities and be happy !!
