Would you get mad at the mailman if he/she sprayed your dog with pepper spray?

I'm applying at the post office for a job. I apologize if I scared anyone with my question. I would never hurt an animal on purpose. I was referring to self-defense. I live in USA and evidently they provide the mailmen with sprays for violent dogs.

1. no i would not.. i would be mad at myself for not watching my dog properly... mail comes ONCE a day... simply make sure your dog is not loose at that time.....

3. If the dog wwent and attacked you? No. But if he's on leash or whatever and can't actually touch you, then yes.
4. my dog is very friendly and I'm sure that everyone who is participating in the pets forum has a well behaved dog, not some hellish beast. This isn't a good place to ask such a specific personal question. My dog is well mannered. She is friendly, but is also wary if a stranger is coming into her territory, which as a mailman is what you're doing in their eyes, but she would never do anything to warrant a pepper spray. If a mailman, gardener, whoever pepper sprayed my dog, I would sue them in a heartbeat. I know some owners are irresponsible with training and controlling their pets, so I understand why a mailman would need pepper spray, but this was the wrong question asked to the wrong group of people.
