If you put a letter in your mailbox, will the mailman pick it up and bring it to the post office to mail it?
I live in Illinois and need to get a letter to Brooklyn, NY and wasn't sure if you really have to go to a post office to mail letters to a different state or if you can just do it from your own mailbox.

- If you have a stamp on it.
- Yes. I think they might do a scan search on it if it is International, or maybe if it is domestic
- and you raise the flag or stick the letter out a little so he can see it..
- i don't think so
- If the mailman picks it up and it has the correct postage, it should be delivered anywhere in the world that has a postal system.
- i dont think so....a postman will not look inside the mail box to check if it has a letter to be mailed, will he!
- yes
- That is part of their jobs. Put proper postage on it and off it will go!
- You can put your letter in the mailbox and the mailman will pick it up. Just be sure that you have proper postage and a return address on the envelope. (Don't forget to put your flag up.)
