What does "in transit" mean at the FEDEX GROUND?

So the package arrived at salt late city and its about 9 hours to my current location. What does in transit mean?

1. now what do you think it means? it means just what it says your package is enroute to its destination did you think it meant it caught a bus? :) <wink>
2. It is what it is,,,IN TRANSIT ! The item has been accounted for at various "checkpoints" but has not been delivered yet. You may see a notation " on time delivery scheduled" meaning it will be delivered according to FED Ex's schedule. Continue to monitor for status updates. Good Luck.
3. Its still on a truck. Don't get excited until you see "Out for Delivery." Good luck.
