What is the Timetable for professional flight careers?
I'm about to enter a 4 year long flight program. I'm wondering what the general timetable is for being able to apply to big airlines(mainly cargo) such as FedEx/UPS. I'll graduate with B.S. degree and about 190 flight hours, around 40 of those multiengine. I know that I'll be instructing for a while, but after that I don't have ideas as to where I'll be able to go. Any and all answers welcome :)

- Your School should be able to assist you. Your tuition fees go toward that service. Or ask your Professor. I'm sure they would be more than happy to offer you some guidance. That's what they are there for.
- Welcome to the ranks of aviation. A timeline can be hard to come up with. After getting your CFI, you can figure on teaching for six months to a year. That all depends on which regional you go with. They are all about the same, crappy first year pay and lousy schedule. Stay there for a few years upgrade and get the PIC time for a few years and then make your jump to your choice of majors. This worked for me and I am happy with the regional I am at.
- to get into a major like that you are going to need turbine time. check out www.airlinepilotcentral.com and www.jetcareers.com for better info about it
