How do I become a US postal worker in Southern California?

I want to work either as a mail carrier or work as a clerk at a post office. I need detail answer. Also Is it a good pay? I have a high school diploma. How much do I make when I start?

1. www.usps.com/employment check that site... It is good pay if you become an actual mail man/woman. I believe it used to be around 18-19$/hour.
