How do people work in the worst parts of LA?

You hear about the worst parts of LA where people get shot for being the wrong color or wearing the wrong color, so how do people work in those areas? Like the mailman, the power company, the cable company....Because if there was a chance of me getting caught in crossfire, you bet i wouldn't be delivering peoples UPS packages....Just wondering, do people leave them alone or do they just risk their lives to do their jobs?

  1. It is a real problem. Many people who live in areas like that are on public assistance. I remember back in the 80's pizza delivery was attacked for racism for refusing to deliver in crime ridden areas because the drivers were robbed, beaten and raped. When the electrical repairmen have to go into these areas they get police protection that Al Sharpton would call special treatment if he was consistent. Business owners deal with these issues all the time. An employee can sue the employer for being victimized in a hood that has a history of victimizing workers. It's like the gorillas attacking the UN food workers, keeping them from feeding the starving children. Good question!
  2. Probably very quickly...If you are being paid to do a job, you will do it to the best of your ability.....Policemen, firemen, ambulances, UPS all go where they have to, when they have to. I am sure that location might cross their minds but I for one am glad that they do their jobs well.....thank you
