Would it be politically incorrect to despise readers of the Daily Mail?
My work takes me into many homes and offices. Often when I find myself faced with a really dumb femail, I usually find they read the Daily Mail.
Public Comments
- You should feel sympathy for them.
- just funny really, I despise Grauniad readers and those that look at the pictures in the Sun or Daily sport, the old order 'comrades' who read the Mirror and the feeble minded who read the Independent, along with the pretentious who read the Times, we can all be classified!
- I hate the tabloid sensationalist press.
- A lot of people despise readers of the Daily Mail, but then a lot of people are ill informed because they do not read the DM. As a life-long Socialist I know how important it is to know the enemy and to obtain intelligence such as the Tory battle-plan, it is necessary sometimes to read that dreadful rag the Daily Mail. The DM is, in historic terms, just the tattered remains of the battle standard of that disreputable army of Cavaliers who lost nearly every battle they ever fought and who spent much of their time drinking in taverns and preening themselves. "Know thine enemy".
- No, because they choose to read the rag ! It's wrong to despise someone for how they were born (white, gay, disabled, etc.) but for anything they actually elect to do, go ahead and despise 'em - I do. You gotta feel sorry for them too, though, so much to worry about: paedophiles, superbugs, muslims, immigrants, house prices, obesity, porn, health scares, celebrities - it's hell in there
- hey, it's definitely not just women who read that paper - but yes of course it is correct to despise them - I personally think we should burn them at the stake...
- It is totally politically incorrect to even mention Daily Mail readers. Wash your mouth out!!
- An example: Read the Richard Littlejohn column in todays Daily Mail "Why don't normal rules apply to gays" Firemen demoted and fined for shining torch on gay foursome in the bushes Reading this column I was outraged about our brave firefighters fined £1000 for disturbing some gay men who were having sex in a bush. HOWEVER read it in the Guardian and these 4 firemen took their fire engine for a jaunt on to the downs above Bristol (where there wasn't a fire) and went hunting for gay people. They weren't fined for disturbing gay people - they were fined for misusing a fire engine.
- Who gives a stuff whether it's "PC". There are soldiers out their dying for rights such as Freedom of speech, and people in this country are too scared of exercising them. Stuff the "PC" Brigade say what you think without worrying who your going to upset. Each person has their own voice and their own opinion, so exercise that right.
- What I find funny about them is that they truly believe that the Mail gives a balanced view and they believe every word.
- technically i think yes because if they do read the daily mail, there is no point in despising over something like that. you may read a politically incorrect newspaper for example.
- I can't believe the Daily Mail has "readers". That would imply the people who buy it are intelligent enough to be literate...
- How do you know they are 'reading' it. They may be just looking at the pictures.
- No, my mother in law reads the daily mail and reckons that she is always right and everyone else is wrong
- As a female I'm not so dumb but then I don't read the Daily Mail, Oh and it is not just women who read the Daily Mail there are a lot of men who fall into the category.
- No. It would also not be politically incorrect to despise someone who thinks that only dumb females read the Daily Mail, I suspect a lot of dumb males also read it. Possibly people who either can't spell 'male', 'female' or think writing 'femail' is somehow witty!
- what really annoys me is that some how guadian readers think, what thier paper says is 'fact' and everyone else is wrong. Read the mail, be proud to be English (or British) and lets stop this PC nonsense
