Catalouge order returned, gone missing!?

I orderd a fridge freezer from a catalouge. The item was badly dameged. I called the dispatcher and the catalouge company. I was given a replacement. I was told to box the damaged fridge ready for the courier. 1 week later a new fridge freezer arrived and they took thedamaged one away. Now the catalouge company say the item is missing and are billing me for it. The couriers who delivered the replacement, took the damaged on away, the same courier company that do all the deliverys. One week after, a man came to my home to pick up a fridge freezer, i told him it was taken away the same day when the new one arrived, by the same company. He said ok, however the catalouge, had now gone back to his company, that the other couriers were not good. Other than that he said nothing. Now the catalouge wants me to pay for the missing fridge. I signed three lots of papers. I can see that all three are dispatch notes. 2 i signed for in my home, the 3rd was brought to me after they loaded the damaged fridge into the van. They said it was for that fridge. However i see that it is just another delivery note. I have witnesses to all that took place on that day and also about the damage to the first fridge freezer, the one thats gone missing? What can i do, to stop them making me pay for that fridge freezer?

1. If i was you i would seek legal advise on this matter. You have witnesses and signatures for the freezer, also most companies log calls and keep records so your initial complaint would be traceable. However,as there is a third party involved and this is were it gets a bit messy. Dont offer to pay or anthing until you`ve spoken to a solicitor.
