Do I need to uninstall the free virus protection in order install the virus I have?

I just got a new laptop which came with a free trial of anti-virus protection. I already purchased virus protection from another company when I had my old laptop. Do I need to uninstall the free anti-virus program before I install the virus protection I own. If yes, how would I uninstall it.

1. Does your new laptop have norton anti-virus? If it does, go to start - control panel - add or remove programs and from the list, try to find any norton software and the "change/remove" button and uninstall it like that.
2. No you don't need to . Just don't run the free one while you're installing the new bought one.
3. I dont have a laptop, but the computer I have now came with its own anti virus. When I installed my own, my new anti virus deleted the old one on its own.
