what is the best virus protection software that can be used on multiple computers?

I have 3 computers and I am looking for a great virus protection that I can use on all of them, what do you all recommend btw, i am looking for one that I can purchase, not download from a website as I am suspicious of those types.

  2. I recommend Kaspervsky. It is the BEST antivirus protection around. You do have to buy it though.
  3. Hi, AVG is a great anti-virus company. They have a free version of their software, and the more feature rich version for a reasonable fee. I used their free version for a year, and then switched to their fee version. I found it much less resource intensive than Mcafee, and less problematic when installing new programs or general operations. http://www.grisoft.com/doc/HomeAndSoho/lng/us/tpl/tpl01 There is a multi-computer option on the page for that link. The free version can be found on this page. It updates itself daily and runs in the back ground. http://free.grisoft.com/ "Second question: What is the best/easiest way to 'clean' a pc of all visited web sites, downloaded files, etc? Is deleting cookies and temps good enough?" Most of the time, yes. If you are worried about spyware and unwanted installations then I would suggest looking into Microsoft's Anti-spyware. I personally don't have great affection for Microsoft, but the Anti-spyware they have been developing runs very well, and is a great program/layer of protection while surfing the Internet. Currently the anti-spyware from Microsoft is free. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx You can also look into CLAM WIN, a very robust, open-source virus scanner. You can find more information and downloads at: http://www.clamwin.net/ thanks
  4. I recommend Avast! Anti virus. It is the best anti virus out there. I've tried Norton, McAfee, and AVG Free Edition but none of them could find the 18 virus's i had on my computer like Avast! could. It's free too. All you have to do is register with a name and an Email and they just send you a home/professional registration key (depending on which kind you want). I put a link down below to download Avast!
