where can I get virus protection for my computer at no cost?

the virus protection i have is about to run out and I was wondering if there was a virus protection available for free that would protect my computer from unwanted viruses. I am new to all this and would apprecitate some feedback. Thanks!

1. get avg free edition, everyone uses it, almost same as professional edition. If you want a crack version or norton, download it from limewire
2. There are several great free virus software for PCs, one of which is AVG Free Advisor. It is a widely used virus program that is very well trusted. Yahoo! also makes a Yahoo Anitvirus scan that comes with the Yahoo! Toolbar. It detects potentially harmful cookies and tracking devices. It would be a good idea to use this even if you have a good working virus software because Yahoo! Antivirus scans viruses that other programs might not pick up.
