USPS Address change question ????
I have recently moved to a new address. I have completed the change of address form at a post office. I am supposed to receive a mail in rebate check. I know it will be presorted standard mail with my name and previous address on it. But there will be no endorsement on it (like "forwarding service requested"). Will this check be forwarded to my new address or am I going to lose the money? P.S.- I have already been forwarded another presorted standard mail with my name and previous address on it. But this one had "Forwarding Service Requested" endorsement on it. I know the one that I am still expecting will not have it since my friend has already received her check and I saw it. Please let me know.....

- it will just take a little longer, i have two address changes and it takes a little longer than normal to get mail.
- All of your mail should be forwarded to you, no matter what it says, until the forwarding order expires. But after the fowarding order expires, mail with your old address will be returned to the sender.
- Most likely, it will be forwarded without a problem. Just make sure that you also contact the Department of Transportation or Department of Motor Vehicles in your state. That's a good way to make sure information from the government is in their systems. If the check is not forwarded, and is instead returned, I'm sure you can contact the IRS to ask for it to be reissued to your new address.
- I am a postal employee. It this piece is a presorted standard rate with no endorsement it will NOT be sent on to you. The only way that mail will be sent on is if it has the endorsement forwading service requested or address correction requested....good luck
