How long does USPS forward mails to New Address?

I changed my address 2.5 months ago , and I am supposed to get a rebate (10-12 weeks) mail posted to old address , I did set up a change of address with USPS , and it was working ( i used to get fwded to new address mails) .. But is there a time limit?

  1. USPS usually forwards mail for about 3 months but you can put in a request for an extended period. Also some mail can not be fwded. hope this helps
  2. For 12 months the USPS will forward all first class mail to you. For the six months after that the mail will be returned to sender, but your new address will be listed on it. After those 18 months you fall out of the system entirely. As long as your rebate was sent first class you'll get it. If it was sent Bulk aka standard rate you won't.
