Forwarding of Drivers License from Missouri to new address OUT of State?

I have applied for a drivers license. I have with me a temporary drivers license with my license number. I will now be moving out of state. I have notified USPS of my change in address and given them my forwarding address. When the license arrives, will it be forwarded to my address or will it be sent back to the DMV office ? I am in Missouri.

  1. better hope the postal attendant is having a good day if not count on it going back
  2. Driver licenses are not forwarded, it will be returned to the state. You'll need to contact the DMV to receive a duplicate, they will not put your new out of state address on it.
  3. It will be forwarded unless MO has a special endorsement requiring USPS to not forward licenses. I have never seen a "no forward" request on a driver's license.
