Is there a legit website that I can got to to change my address?

USPS charges an online fee of $1.00, and I am not sure to trust other sites. Please help! I'm moving today!

  1. Thats the only legitimate way to do it online. Otherwise if your willing to wait you can go down the post office and fill out a form. The only reason the website charges you a dollar is to verify your identity.
  2. Do it through USPS.... all others are just taking your money. Or better yet, just drop by your local post office and fill out the forms.. it is free. And keep in mind that even doing it over the counter at the local PO is going to take about two weeks to take effect.... you'll have to make arrangements with the new tenant or landlord to hold your mail or forward it to you... leave them big envelopes with postage....
  3. You have 3 choices USPS web site. go to Post Office get a mail-in card from your mail carrier at either old or new address ***
  4. USPS.com is the only legitimate site to change your address, they only charge a dollar to verify your identity. If you go to the post office in person (it's a pain, I know) and fill it out in person, it's free and goes into effect just as quickly.
  5. If you don't want to pay the $1.00, go to the post office and fill out a form by hand and hand it to the postal worker or drop in the mailbox. It's free! Otherwise, there is no other legit way of doing it. Don't worry, most post offices will have the forms out on those tables even if they're closed and you can still fill it out and throw it in the mailbox.
  6. Ask your mail carrier for a change of address card, fill it out and give it back to the carrier or put it as out going mail and the carrier will take it back to the post office ......
