Postal Letter

Does the United States Postal Service keep records?

I bought a ring on overstock.com, and returned it the following day because it did not look like the picture on overstock.com. A week later, I notice it still hasnt been credited to my card, so I call them up and they say they have no record of a return request. Low and behold, I lost the tracking number for the package. My question is, if i go to the post office, will they know the tracking #? Thank you.

  1. Ask them!
  2. If you've lost the tracking number, they have no way of knowing what happened to the package. It normally takes 14 days for most refunds to be credited anyway. Give it more time, then contact your credit card company and tell them you're disputing a transaction.
  3. sometimes it will take as long as 3 weeks for a credit to show on your account. If they have not processed it then they won't have the information on the return. There are litterly thousands of companies that overstock.com deals with. Even though you purchased it through overstock, it could have been shipped by another supplier. Try to find as much information as you can on your Purchase, then you can back track to find your return- goodluck. The postal service normally is pretty good about locating items as long as you had it insured or certified.
