Postal Letter

I work for the post office in delaware would like to transfer to post office in virginia or metro area?

I have been employed with the United States Postal Service since March of 1999, as a Window and Distribution Clerk, in Wilmington, Delaware. I have moved to Triangle, Virginia and have been trying to transfer to one of the post offices in my area for over 1 year. I have been unable to get any help from management and my union with my transfer. my 2 1/2 + hour drive has taken its toll on me. I am a very loyal employee to the post office and find difficulty in understanding why the post office is located all over the world and I can't get transferred. Could you please give me assistance in how to go about being successful with transferring to a local post office. I really don't want to lose my time invested in the post office. Or if you could refer me to someone

  1. How is your sick leave record? How is your accident record? If they are both excellent...Go to the Post Office that you want to be transfered to. See the Postmaster and tell them you would like a transfer. If they are going to have a position open they should be willing to hire you. I transfered in 1999 after 18 months service. I followed the above procedure and was able to transfer rather quickly. There may be another way. Go to the liteblue website. On the bottom right is Bargaining Unit Reassignment. Follow those steps. Best wishes.
