Can I cash a postal money order at a post office if it is payable to my initials only? (JMD, not John M. Doe)?
I'm in the United States by the way.

- yes but you must have a id.. no problem if the mail handler knows you or if you are on her route.. ok
- Yes, if it is a US Postal Service Money Order, you will need proper identification. If it is for any amount over around $50, go later in the day. Clerks do not have much cash on hand earlier and may not be able to cash it for you at that time.
